SCOOP: Dinesh Vijan contemplating pushing Param Sundari’s release; Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar 2 might be the only Hindi release on July 25

The teaser of Param Sundari was attached with Bhool Chuk Maaf and it was met with a positive response. On May 29, it was released digitally and further added to the film's hype. However, fans of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor might have to wait a little longer as the producers, Maddock Films, are contemplating postponing its release.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Param Sundari is scheduled to release on July 25. Dinesh Vijan had a meeting with his team and is discussing whether they should stick to the date or arrive later. There are too many releases next month and this is one of the reasons behind the team having second thoughts.”

The source continued, “The Maddock team is looking at August 29. No film has taken this slot. They are also considering other dates.”

The source cautioned, “The USP of Maddock is the way they take swift decisions. We have seen that in the past when they decided to suddenly release Zara Hatke Zara Bachke within 3 weeks or when they pushed Bhool Chuk Maaf not just by a week but also decided to cancel its theatrical release. Hence, with Dinesh Vijan, you never know. He might push the release or he might also stick to July 25. A clearer picture would emerge in a few days.”

If Param Sundari gets pushed, Son Of Sardaar 2 will get a solo Bollywood release. The grand comic caper is also scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 25. It stars Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Sanjay Mishra, Kubbra Sait and the late Mukul Dev.

Overcrowded July

Meanwhile, trade is concerned as there are far too many releases in the month of July. The month will begin with the musical Metro…In Dino, the Pan-India film Kingdom and the much-awaited Hollywood biggie Jurassic World: Rebirth clashing at the box office on July 4. On July 11, Vikrant Massey-Shanaya Kapoor starrer Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Rajkummar Rao’s action drama Maalik would release along with another Hollywood biggie, Superman.

On July 18, Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films will present their romantic saga, Saiyaara, also the debut vehicle of Ahaan Panday. The same day, two Hollywood flicks are also scheduled to be released – Smurfs and I Know What You Did Last Summer. While the former can attract kids in hordes, the latter is a slasher film and after Final Destination Bloodlines, this can be another A-rated box office surprise. Lastly, besides Param Sundari and Son Of Sardaar 2, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will also have a release on the big screen on July 25.

Anupam Kher announces fourth book ‘Different But No Less’, calls it ‘very special’

Veteran actor and motivational speaker Anupam Kher has revealed his upcoming fourth book, titled ‘Different But No Less.’ Famous for his motivational journey in his personal and professional life, Kher shared the announcement on Instagram. In a video post, he described the book as "very special." The book draws from his own life experiences.

The actor, who previously wrote ‘The Best Thing About You Is You,’ ‘Lessons Life Taught Me Unknowingly,’ and ‘Your Best Day Is Today,’ described ‘Different But No Less’ as another self-help and motivational book.

In his caption, Kher wrote, “My motivational books are inspired by my own life experiences... I put into my books whatever lessons life has taught me.”

The book also reveals the story behind his upcoming movie Tanvi The Great and the obstacles he encountered during its creation. In the video, Kher explained, “This book isn’t about the storms you face, but about how you navigate through them. It’s about ensuring your struggles don’t negatively impact others.”

Discussing the book’s message, Kher said, “It’s about challenging your own faith in yourself. It’s centered on optimism and hope, navigating through turmoil, and trusting the greatest guide God has given us—our heart.” The book is set to hit stores soon.

On the work front, Anupam Kher is preparing for the release of his directorial film Tanvi The Great, scheduled for July 18. The movie features actors Karan Tacker, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swamy, and Iain Glen, with sound design by Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty. The project is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in partnership with NFDC (National Film Development Corporation).

Anees Bazmee reacts to rumours about the exit of Diljit Dosanjh from No Entry 2; says, “I’m just happy that the film is getting made”

Director Anees Bazmee has broken his silence on the reported exit of Diljit Dosanjh from No Entry 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2005 comedy hit. While the news of Diljit walking out of the project has made headlines, Bazmee maintains that his focus remains on getting the film made, regardless of casting shifts.

Speaking to News18, Anees Bazmee said, “I’m just happy that the film is getting made. There’s no bigger joy than that. At this point, woh hi ho raha hai jo upar waala chahta hai (Whatever is happening is the will of God). I work with a lot of earnestness and I leave the rest to God.” Bazmee also reflected on the reality of filmmaking, noting that ideal casting doesn’t always work out. “It’s not like I’ve only worked with actors who’ve been my first choices on the films I’ve done so far. I’ve had to work with actors who were my second and even third choices. But once these films got released, audiences felt that those actors fit the characters perfectly and nobody else could’ve pulled off those parts the way they did.”

Meanwhile, Bazmee insisted that all is well between him Diljit despite the modalities not working out. Describing him as a “very honest and talented” actor, Anees revealed that the two had met only briefly. He recalled that Diljit had agreed to do the film almost immediately after hearing the basic premise. The actor was quoted saying he loved the first No Entry and trusted Bazmee’s vision. The director appreciated Diljit’s simplicity and said the actor didn’t even wait for a full narration before committing.

Addressing their last meeting, Bazmee added, “Our last meeting, which was the second time that we met, lasted for 10 minutes. We were discussing his dates because there was a bit of back and forth. He told me that he’s trying to work out his dates. Boney ji was also there. Since it’s a big film, everything that happens makes news. I’m used to these things and I don’t let such things bother me. Main kabhi safaiyaan nahi deta. Jo hona hai, woh hi hoga aur jo hoga, achcha hi hoga (I never explain myself. Whatever happens will happen, and it will be for the best).”

No Entry 2, produced by Boney Kapoor, is said to be a three-hero comedy entertainer. Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor have reportedly been locked in for two of the lead roles, while the search continues for the third along with the leading ladies.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Dhoom 4 to go on floors in April 2026: Report

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to take the Dhoom franchise forward, as reports suggest he will headline Dhoom 4 in a slick new avatar. The fourth instalment of the popular action-heist franchise is being planned as a reboot, with Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji likely to helm the project under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra is personally invested in shaping the new vision for Dhoom 4 and is currently in the process of locking a script that matches with the legacy of the franchise, along with screenwriter Shridhar Raghavan. “Aditya Chopra has been closely involved in developing the story and screenplay of Dhoom 4 with Shridhar Raghavan. They are currently working on the story draft that’s worthy of the hype around the reboot with Dhoom 4,” a source said.

The franchise, known for its suave anti-heroes, looks to continue the trend with Ranbir playing the antagonist. “Ranbir is the apt choice for Dhoom 4, and the character is also designed keeping his aura and personality in mind. The new Dhoom film is being designed keeping the global action standards in mind, and the visual pallete, as also storytelling will be very different from the already established YRF Spy Universe,” the source added.

Details of the rest of the cast continues to stay under wraps including the names of the actors who will be seen in the roles of police officer Jai and Ali, originally played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in the film series. YRF is planning to take Dhoom 4 on floors by April 2026, with a target wrap by the end of the same year. The makers are eyeing a 2027 release.

Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently working on Love & War with real-life wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, will reunite with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 2007’s Saawariya for that period romance. Meanwhile, Ayan Mukerji is in the final stages of post-production for War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. The action thriller is slated for release on August 14, 2025.

With Ranbir’s charisma and Ayan’s storytelling sensibilities coming together for the fourth time, Dhoom 4 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated action spectacles in the coming years.
