BREAKING: Daayra marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s TENTH film to receive ‘A’ rating from CBFC; Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe also gets adult certificate

It’s the year of adult films, it seems. After Dhurandhar The Revenge, Mirzapur, Cocktail 2, Batwara 1947, O'Romeo, Assi, Bandar etc. the two big Hindi releases next week have also received an ‘A’ rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was passed today, that is, September 11, by the CBFC, with an ‘A’ rating. The length of the film, as per the censor certificate, is 143,16 minutes. In other words, Daayra is 2 hours, 23 minutes and 16 seconds long. The investigative thriller is directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Daayra marks Kareena Kapoor Khan's tenth film that will be for adults only. The other 9 films were Ajnabee (2001), Chameli (2003), Dev (2004), Omkara (2006), Kurbaan (2009), Heroine (2012), Udta Punjab (2016), Veere Di Wedding (2018) and The Buckingham Murders (2024).

Meanwhile, Vibe was also passed by the CBFC today. The comic caper also received an ‘adults only’ rating from the Censor Board. According to the CBFC website, Vibe's length is 145.55 minutes, or 2 hours, 25 minutes and 55 seconds.

Vibe stars Kunal Kemmu, who is also the film’s director. Besides Kunal, the film stars Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Vanshika Dhir, Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua and Yashpal Sharma. Vibe is the second film of Preity G Zinta after her comeback. Her previous film, Batwara 1947, was released last month and also received an ‘A’ rating.

An industry insider commented, “Daayra’s ‘A’ rating is understandable as the film deals with a theme that is suitable for adult and mature audiences. However, Vibe looks like a fun entertainer that can be enjoyed by adults as well as kids and teens. It seems to be in the zone of Kunal Kemmu’s previous directorial, Madgaon Express (2024), which had received a U/A rating. Hence, its adult certification will come as a surprise for many.”

Both Daayra and Vibe will release in cinemas on September 18.

Ameesha Patel’s parents’ Mumbai home robbed, jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh reportedly stolen

Ameesha Patel’s parents’ residence in Mumbai’s Churchgate area was allegedly targeted in a jewellery theft, with valuables worth around Rs 5 lakh reported missing. Mumbai Police have arrested a 40-year-old domestic worker in connection with the case following a complaint filed by the actress’s mother, Asha Patel.

According to IANS, the accused has been identified as 40-year-old Seema Ghate, a resident of Palghar. Ghate had reportedly been working as a domestic helper at the residence of Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, for around one and a half years.

The alleged theft came to light after Asha Patel approached the Marine Drive police and filed a complaint. According to the police, a bangle was allegedly stolen from the residence in January 2026. Asha reportedly suspected Ghate of being involved in the incident and had allegedly been asking her for around five to six months to admit to the crime and return the jewellery.

However, the bangle was allegedly not returned, following which Asha Patel decided to approach the police. The Marine Drive police initially registered a case against an unidentified woman under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

As part of the investigation, a crime detection team worked on the case and traced the accused to Virar. Ghate was subsequently detained and arrested by the police. She was produced before a court and has been remanded to police custody until September 15.

The investigation into the alleged theft is currently underway. Police are attempting to recover the missing jewellery, while the bangle reportedly remains unrecovered. Authorities are also checking whether Ghate has any previous criminal record.

Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel has been associated with Bollywood for more than two decades. She made her acting debut in 2000 with Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, which went on to become a commercial success. She later appeared in films including Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2.

In 2023, Ameesha reprised her role in Gadar 2, which became her highest-grossing release. She was last seen in Tauba Tera Jalwa, directed by Akashaditya Lama, which released in 2024.

Triptii Dimri joins Peep Beauty as investor and co-creator

Triptii Dimri has joined D2C eye-focused beauty brand Peep Beauty as an investor and co-creator. The startup is looking to build a beauty category centred on coloured contact lenses and eye makeup.

According to a statement shared by the company, Dimri has been associated with Peep Beauty from its early stages. As part of her role, she has contributed to the brand’s creative direction, product discussions and storytelling. Her involvement extends beyond her investment, with the actor also participating in conversations around the brand’s overall vision and positioning.

Dimri’s investment comes as part of Peep Beauty’s pre-seed funding round of Rs. 12 crores ($1.2 million). The round was led by Sadev Ventures, with participation from iSeed, ISV and TDV.

The partnership is also built around the idea of creating a beauty brand that places greater focus on the Indian eye. Peep Beauty aims to position coloured contact lenses as part of the broader beauty and self-expression space rather than limiting them to a functional or medical category.

Talking about her association with the brand, Triptii Dimri, Investor & Co-Creator, Peep Beauty, said, “The first thing that struck me about Peep Beauty was that it wasn’t just creating a product; it was creating an entirely new way of thinking about beauty. The eye is one of the most expressive parts of who we are, yet coloured lenses have always been spoken about as a functional or medical category. Peep Beauty changes that conversation. Being part of building a brand from the ground up, contributing creatively, and helping shape its vision made this partnership incredibly exciting for me.”

With Dimri coming on board as an investor and co-creator, Peep Beauty is set to develop its presence in the eye-focused beauty segment while working on products and storytelling aimed at Indian consumers.

Bipasha Basu seeks Tukaram Mundhe’s help after she finds worms in protein powder: “You are our only hope”

Actor Bipasha Basu has raised concerns about an alleged contamination issue involving a jar of Isopure protein powder. On Thursday, the actor took to Instagram Stories to share a video in which she claimed to have found tiny worms inside a freshly opened jar of the product.

In the video, Bipasha showed what appeared to be a small worm on her finger and claimed that there were several others inside the container. “This Isopure is full of small worms. Tiny, tiny worms. The new dabba that we’ve opened,” she said while showing the contents. “These are the worms inside it, full of it,” Bipasha further alleged.

The actor also tagged Tukaram Mundhe, Commissioner of Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), seeking his intervention over the alleged issue. In her Instagram Story, she wrote, “@tukaram ias You are our only hope .. So we don't get spoilt or adulterated stuff in everything we purchase.”

Bipasha's post comes amid increased attention around food safety and hygiene concerns involving products and establishments in Maharashtra. However, the actor's allegation regarding the protein powder has not been independently verified.

The incident also comes shortly after Bipasha made headlines for her digital cover appearance for Elle, where she spoke about her work, motherhood and making bold choices despite being advised against them. Her latest Instagram post, however, focused on a consumer concern rather than her professional projects. Tukaram Mundhe's Food Safety Crackdown Bipasha's decision to tag Tukaram Mundhe comes against the backdrop of the FDA official's reputation for strict enforcement of food safety and hygiene standards in Maharashtra. Mundhe has recently been associated with inspections and action concerning food safety and hygiene across restaurants and cafes in the state. His no-nonsense approach has also led to him being described as a "real-life Singham" on social media.

Recently, Salman Khan also made a playful reference to the FDA commissioner while sharing a video from a friend's newly opened Bandra cafe, The Tuck Shop at Savio's. Sharing the video, Salman wrote, “Refill my coffee ya please. Price mat badhana, quality maintain karna. Hygiene maintained, or I will send HIM and it's done, sis.”

While Salman did not explicitly name Mundhe, his reference to sending “HIM” was widely understood as a nod to the commissioner and his reputation for strict action over food safety and hygiene.

Bipasha's latest post now puts the spotlight on an alleged contamination issue involving a packaged protein product. Any official response or action from the Maharashtra FDA regarding her complaint remains awaited.

BREAKING: Avengers Endgame: Encore advance booking opens; PVR Sangam Chakala among India’s first Infinity Vision screens

Two weeks are left for the release of Avengers Endgame: Encore and the excitement is high despite it being a re-release. One reason is the recent blockbuster success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has once again boosted interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, Avengers Endgame: Encore will include new material along with an exclusive look at the next Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday. Earlier this year, Disney launched Infinity Vision, a new certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) cinemas. The certification is given to auditoriums that meet certain standards related to screen size, projection quality, brightness and sound. Avengers Endgame: Encore will be one of the first films to play on Infinity Vision-certified screens, ahead of Avengers: Doomsday in December.

Earlier today, September 11, the advance booking of Avengers Endgame: Encore commenced in India and with it, the first set of Infinity Vision-certified screens in the country has also emerged. PVR C&B Square, also known as PVR Sangam, located in Chakala, Andheri East, Mumbai, is one of the cinemas to have received the Infinity Vision certification. The superhero flick will have two shows there, at 7:15 pm and 11:00 pm.

In Delhi, PVR Promenade, Vasant Kunj, will have shows at the same timings. Meanwhile, Cinepolis Lake Mall, Kolkata, will have three shows of Avengers Endgame: Encore – at 9:00 am, 4:20 pm and 11:50 pm. These cinemas are also Infinity Vision-certified. As per trade sources, more cinemas are expected to come under the certification not just in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata but also in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore and others.

The occupancy in IMAX and Infinity Vision screens is expected to be healthy. This is because while the regular screens will include new footage and a unique opening, they will not feature the new post-credits scene directly linked to Avengers: Doomsday. That scene will be exclusive to IMAX and Infinity Vision-certified screens.

The prices are also kept a bit higher as Avengers Endgame: Encore is expected to perform well at the box office.

Shaque trailer launch: Parineeti Chopra shares her views on the debate over motherhood impacting projects: “I can’t wait to retire at 50, 60 or 70 and then get pregnant, right?”

Parineeti Chopra, Anup Soni, Soni Razdan, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Tanya Bami of Netflix, director Rensil D'Silva and producer Siddharth P Malhotra attended the trailer launch of Shaque: Trust No One in Mumbai. The launch started very late, inconveniencing the media. However, Parineeti made up for it with her ever-bubbly appearance and quotes. She revealed how the makers took care of her when she learned, while shooting for the show, that she was pregnant.

As a follow-up, Parineeti was asked whether her approach to the show, which is about a mother searching for her child, would have been different had she known beforehand that she was expecting. The actress began by saying, “That’s a great question. To answer your question, maybe. I know there’s been a lot of debate in the industry about women being mothers and how that impacts projects. So, I do want to answer this question responsibly.”

Parineeti continued, “Women actors are ‘women humans’. I don’t know if that makes sense! But I can’t wait for myself to retire at 50, 60 or 70 and then get pregnant, right? So, it’s always going to happen when I am working. I believe the only solution is to have a discussion. There cannot be a thumb rule for this. Every case is different and every project is different. In my case, I was able to have that conversation with the makers and figure out a solution, so that the project didn’t get compromised.”

She also said, “The opposite can happen. You can have that conversation and the film, the creatives, the timings, locations etc. don’t work out in favour of pregnancy or motherhood. And then, two working individuals can decide not to go ahead and do that project together. I don’t think we should have a single thumb rule overall for pregnancy and motherhood. There can be discussions and solutions, which are case-specific. That’s the only way forward, I think. Nobody should get too stressed about this.”

Parineeti Chopra then opined, “In my case, I was very lucky. The makers were very flexible and understanding. They worked with my schedules. A little bit to my credit, I also pushed myself and did the best I could in my circumstances. We used to have a conversation about everything – what we can do, what we can’t, what the hours are, what the travel is – everything. That’s how we could have a positive experience.”

Shaque: Trust No One Trailer: Parineeti Chopra starrer series unravels a mother’s 9-year search - Can she trust anyone?

Netflix has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming mystery thriller Shaque: Trust No One, promising a layered story built around a mother’s nine-year search for her missing child. Starring Parineeti Chopra in her series debut, the show explores trust, suspicion and the secrets that can exist within the closest of relationships. The series will premiere on September 24.

At the centre of the story is a mother who refuses to give up on finding her missing child. Driven by instinct and the belief that her child is still out there, her prolonged search gradually leads her towards a truth that appears to have been hidden in plain sight. As the mystery deepens, she is forced to question not only what she knows, but also whether she can trust the people closest to her.

Created by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra and directed by Rensil D'Silva, Shaque: Trust No One is produced by Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P. Malhotra and backed by Alchemy Filmz. The series features an ensemble cast including Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary.

Parineeti Chopra, who essays the role of the mother at the heart of the story, said, “Shaque is unlike anything I’ve done before. At its heart is a mother’s instinct and her refusal to give up, but the story goes much deeper as her search begins to challenge everything she believes about the people around her. As a mother myself, I found the emotional core of this story deeply personal. There is an instinct that comes with motherhood- you would do absolutely anything for your child, and that instinct to protect them, find them and never stop fighting for them is something I connected with deeply. Making my series debut with such a layered story, alongside the fantastic team at Netflix, Siddharth, Rensil and the entire ensemble, has been a very special experience. I can’t wait for audiences to step into this world, piece the clues together and experience the twists for themselves.”

Jennifer Winget added, “What immediately drew me to Shaque was the ambiguity of its characters. Nothing is simply black or white, and everyone carries a history, a motive and a secret that gradually reveals another layer to the story. The mystery keeps you guessing, but it is the emotional relationships at the heart of it that make the suspense feel so personal. Working with Rensil, Siddharth and this incredible ensemble, and bringing this story to Netflix, was an exciting opportunity to explore a character and a world that constantly keeps you questioning what is real and whom you can trust. I think audiences are going to have a lot of fun trying to put the pieces together.”

Soni Razdan shared, “Shaque is a story where the mystery is deeply rooted in human relationships. What drew me to it was the way it explores trust, suspicion and the secrets people carry, while keeping motherhood and its emotional complexity at the heart of the story. It’s been exciting to be part of a world where nothing is quite what it seems.”

A post shared by Netflix India (@netflix_in)

Anup Soni stated, “I have been a part of multiple mysteries, but what makes Shaque compelling is that it goes beyond simply solving a mystery narrative and keeps you questioning the people, relationships and circumstances surrounding it. The story is layered, unpredictable and constantly challenges your assumptions.”

Tahir Raj Bhasin also went on to say, “It feels great to be back on Netflix with Shaque, where every character brings another layer to the mystery. What I enjoyed most was being part of a story that keeps shifting the audience’s perspective and makes you question what you think you know.”

Harleen Sethi mentioned, “What really drew me was the emotional depth beneath the mystery. It is a story about relationships, secrets and the way trust can change when circumstances push people to their limits. Being part of such an ensemble and a layered world was wonderful.”

“Returning to Netflix with Shaque after Chumbak has been particularly exciting, especially to be part of a story that brings together such a remarkable ensemble. Working alongside actors I deeply admire, and being part of a world so layered and unpredictable, made this a very special experience for me,” maintained Sumeet Vyas.

Dhruv Chowdhary also expressed, “Shaque draws you into a world where the truth is never as simple as it appears. What really stood out to me was how every character has a different perspective, making you constantly question what’s real, what’s hidden and who you can actually trust.”

With nine years spent searching for her child, Parineeti Chopra aka the protagonist’s journey now appears to threaten another certainty in her life — her trust in the people around her. As the trailer sets up multiple questions and shifting perspectives, Shaque: Trust No One promises to keep viewers guessing until the truth comes to light.

Shaque: Trust No One premieres September 24, only on Netflix.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented the award to the actor in the presence of Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar and members of the film fraternity.

The award recognises Rani’s contribution to Indian cinema and her long-standing association with Mumbai and Maharashtra. While accepting the honour, Rani spoke about her connection with Maharashtra and described the state as an important part of both her personal and professional journey. She said, "Majhyasathi Maharashtra fakt ek rajya nahi. "Maharashtra majhi janmabhoomi aahe. Majhi karmabhoomi aahe. Ani majhya ayushyacha ek avibhajya bhaag aahe (For me, Maharashtra is not just a state. Maharashtra is my birthplace. It is the land where I built my career. And it is an inseparable part of my life)."

Lust Stories 3 trailer out: Netflix anthology promises messy relationships, unexpected choices and shades of desire

The wait is almost over! Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Lust Stories 3, the much-anticipated return of its International Emmy®️-nominated anthology, bringing together four acclaimed filmmakers — Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj — for four fresh stories of love, relationships, desire and everything that can go wonderfully, hilariously and painfully wrong.

This time, there’s more drama, more chaos and more heartbreak. Told through four distinct cinematic worlds, Lust Stories 3 brings together an ensemble of some of the finest contemporary talent, including Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada, as they navigate complicated relationships, unexpected choices, emotional entanglements and the many shades of desire.

The trailer offers audiences a glimpse into four very different stories, each carrying its own tone, rhythm and surprises, while remaining connected by a larger exploration of what people want, what they hold back and how those desires can shape the relationships around them. Balancing humour and chemistry with moments of vulnerability and introspection, Lust Stories 3 promises an emotionally layered ride that is as entertaining as it is relatable.

A post shared by Netflix India (@netflix_in)

Talking about being a part of the anthology, Vikramaditya Motwane says, “What drew me to Lust Stories 3 was the chance to explore what happens when the comfort of everyday life begins to rub up against the desire for something unexpected, and this story allowed me to explore that space with warmth, humour and a little bit of unpredictability. Bringing it to life with the crew, the producers, Netflix, and with this madly gifted cast was an incredible experience.”

Kiran Rao adds, “What interested me about this story was how the first sparks of an attraction can quickly become something far more complicated. Desire makes us curious, and sometimes willing to take chances we normally wouldn’t. I was interested in what happens when those choices begin to have unexpected consequences. The anthology format, and the creative freedom Netflix gave us, allowed me to play with intimacy and humour. I really enjoyed finding that balance, letting the characters follow their impulses, and take us to surprising territory. I hope it’s a fun, unpredictable ride that keeps the audience on their toes.”

Shakun Batra says, ‘’For me, the most interesting relationships are the ones where people don’t quite know what they’re feeling, or how to make sense of it. Affection, insecurity, allure and frustration can all exist at the same time, often in ways that surprise us. I wanted to explore that emotional ambiguity with honesty, without judging the characters or trying to give them easy answers. There’s something inherently dramatic, and often quite funny, about watching people navigate those contradictions. Working with such a talented cast, and having the creative space with Netflix to let those emotions unfold naturally, made this a really rewarding experience.’’

Vishal Bhardwaj concludes, "What fascinates me about desire is how deeply it is connected to imagination - to the stories we tell ourselves, and sometimes the stories we are afraid to tell out loud. I was drawn to the idea of exploring that space through a character finding her own voice and discovering what happens when that voice reaches beyond her. There’s humour, mischief and emotion in that journey, but also questions about identity, expression and who gets to tell stories about desire. That made this a particularly exciting story for me to explore. Being part of an anthology with three such distinctive filmmakers was a wonderful creative experience, and Netflix gave all of us the freedom to tell these stories in our own way"

With four acclaimed directors bringing their individual sensibilities to the anthology, Lust Stories 3 promises a celebration of distinctive storytelling, unforgettable characters and the beautiful messiness of human relationships. The trailer is out now. Lust Stories 3 premieres September 18, only on Netflix.

Rajpal Yadav gets interim relief from Supreme Court in cheque dishonour cases, asked to deposit Rs 5 crores

Actor Rajpal Naurang Yadav has received interim relief from the Supreme Court in connection with a series of cheque dishonour cases. On Tuesday, the court exempted him from surrendering for the time being, subject to his depositing Rs 5 crores with the Registry by Wednesday.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana passed the order after petitions filed by Rajpal Yadav and his wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, were orally mentioned before the court by Advocate-on-Record Saurabh Trivedi.

The matter relates to multiple cheque dishonour cases involving M/s Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd. and allegations concerning payments linked to the actor's production company. What did the High Court order? The Supreme Court's interim relief follows proceedings before the High Court, where Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma had directed that the sentences imposed on Rajpal Yadav in seven cases would run concurrently.

The actor was also directed to pay Rs 1.05 crore in each of the seven cases to the complainant. Of this amount, Rs 1,04,75,000 in each case was to be paid as compensation to the complainant, while Rs 25,000 was to be paid to the State.

Radha Yadav was separately directed to pay Rs 5,51,380 to the complainant in each of the seven cases.

The High Court also took into account the Rs 2.25 crores that had already been paid to and released in favour of the complainant during the proceedings. It directed that this amount be adjusted while determining the remaining fine and compensation payable.

The High Court had earlier granted Rajpal Yadav two months to challenge its judgment before the Supreme Court. His sentence was suspended during this period.

Ranveer Singh's upcoming film Pralay has already started creating curiosity among fans, and a few pictures and videos from the sets have now surfaced online. The actor, who began shooting for the film, can be seen in a rugged avatar that has reminded some fans of his look in Dhurandhar.

In one of the videos, Ranveer is seen walking alongside a group of actors while carrying a child on his back. The leaked set visuals also show the actor sporting a beard and long hair, with his appearance suggesting that he is stepping into a physically intense role for the upcoming project.

While the makers have kept details about Pralay under wraps, the leaked visuals have given audiences an early glimpse into the world of the film. Ranveer Singh's rugged look grabs attention Ranveer's appearance in the leaked pictures has naturally led to comparisons with his rugged avatar in Dhurandhar. However, the two projects are different, and details about his character in Pralay have not yet been officially revealed.

The film is being directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, and reportedly centres on a survival story set in Mumbai. The narrative is said to unfold against the backdrop of an end-of-the-world crisis, with the characters fighting to survive as the situation around them begins to collapse.

Ranveer is also serving as one of the producers on the project. The film is being jointly produced by Birla Studios, True Story Films and Maa Kasam Films.

72nd National Film Awards to be held in Gujarat; President Droupadi Murmu to present honours on September 22

The National Film Awards ceremony is set to move out of Delhi for the first time in its 72-year history. The 72nd edition of the awards will be held in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on September 22, with President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to present the honours, officials said on Monday.

The venue shift marks a departure from a long-standing tradition. The first National Awards were presented in 1954 at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, which has hosted the ceremony on several occasions over the years. This year, the awards will instead be presented in Ekta Nagar, formerly known as Kevadia.

Ekta Nagar is home to the Statue of Unity, the world's tallest statue dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Standing 597 feet tall, the monument was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. Article 370 leads this year's winners The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced in July, with Article 370 emerging as the Best Feature Film. The film's lead actor Yami Gautam was also named Best Actress for her performance.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan will share the Best Actor honour. Mammootty has been recognised for his performance in Bramayugam, while Aaryan won for his role in Chandu Champion.

Actor-filmmaker Randeep Hooda has also earned recognition at this year's awards. He has been named the Best Debut Director for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, his directorial debut based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Kalki 2898 AD and Captain Miller among major winners Nag Ashwin's Telugu science-fiction epic Kalki 2898 AD will receive the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award.

Meanwhile, Tamil film Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran and starring Dhanush, has been named the Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social and Environmental Values.

The ceremony on September 22 is expected to bring together several of the year's biggest winners as the National Film Awards begin a new chapter by moving the prestigious event outside Delhi for the first time.

Nora Fatehi sued for Rs 3 crores by aviation company over alleged “toy” and “Lego airplane” comments: Report

Actress Nora Fatehi has reportedly landed in a legal dispute after aviation company Dunes Aviation filed a Rs 3 crores civil defamation suit against her at a Gandhinagar court over comments she allegedly made about one of its chartered aircraft on social media.

According to a PTI report, Dunes Aviation has accused Nora of making “derogatory and reckless” remarks after she shared videos from inside the company’s aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December last year. The company has alleged that the actress referred to the aircraft as a “miniature”, a “toy” and a “Lego airplane” in the videos posted on her Instagram account.

The matter is reportedly scheduled to come up before senior civil judge R Agarwal on September 25. Dunes Aviation claims social media posts affected business In its suit, Dunes Aviation has reportedly claimed that Nora’s remarks reached a substantial audience because of her social media following, which the company puts at more than 4.6 crores followers.

The aviation firm has alleged that the posts caused reputational and commercial damage, including booking cancellations and a decline in business. According to the company, its bookings dropped by 15 to 20 per cent following the controversy, while cancellations increased.

Dunes Aviation has described Nora’s alleged comments as “reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis”. The company has further claimed that the remarks resulted in “serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact”. Company defends aircraft’s certification and operation Dunes Aviation has also addressed the comments about the aircraft itself. According to the suit, the Cessna Citation CJ2 used for the Mumbai-Jaipur journey was a standard aircraft and appropriately sized for the flight.

The company has stated that the aircraft was fully DGCA-certified and airworthy and was being operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP). What Dunes Aviation has sought from Nora Fatehi Apart from Rs 3 crores in damages, Dunes Aviation has reportedly asked the court to direct Nora to remove social media posts and other online content containing the alleged remarks or references to the aircraft.

The company has also sought a public clarification from the actress over the comments.

Parineeti Chopra's web series debut Shaque: Trust No One to stream from September 24 on Netflix

A mother's nine-year search for her missing child is about to collide with a truth no one saw coming. Premiering on September 24, Netflix’s series Shaque: Trust No One promises to be a gripping mystery thriller where nothing – and no one – is quite what it seems.

Created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, directed by Rensil D’Silva, and backed by Alchemy Films, Shaque: Trust No One explores the fragile line between trust and suspicion, instinct and truth, love and obsession. The ensemble is led by Parineeti Chopra, marking her series debut, as a mother in search of her missing child. But as answers finally begin to surface, a chilling question takes hold: can she trust the very people closest to her?

Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, said, “Shaque is a gripping emotional crime drama with elements of a thriller but at its heart, it is a story about a mother’s relentless nine-year search for her child. The story effortlessly moves between the emotional intensity of a mother’s search and the tension of a tightly woven thriller. The characters are central to this journey, each carrying their own conflicts and secrets, constantly shifting our understanding of what has happened and where the truth lies. We’re thrilled to collaborate again with creator-producer Siddharth P. Malhotra and partner with Rensil D’Silva as he makes his Netflix debut with this story. With a powerhouse female ensemble featuring Parineeti Chopra, Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan and Harleen Sethi, alongside Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sumeet Vyas and Anup Soni, Shaque promises to be a perfect binge-watch.”

Thrilled for his fourth outing with Netflix, creator and producer Siddharth P. Malhotra shares, “When Rensil narrated the story to me, I was hooked. There was something about the world he had created that immediately stayed with me, and I knew I had to be a part of it – that this was a story that needed to be told. Being involved with Rensil as a co-creator and producer, alongside Sapna, has been an absolute pleasure. Shaque: Trust No One is relentless, nerve-wracking, emotional and incredibly pacey. It has everything I look for in a great thriller – a deeply emotional core, complex relationships, unexpected twists and the constant feeling that you are one step away from the truth. At its heart, the story begins with a mother searching for her missing child. But that search soon becomes something much bigger – a journey into the secrets and relationships of the people closest to her. What happens when the people you instinctively trust become the very people you begin to question? What makes Shaque particularly compelling is that beneath the mystery and suspense lies a deeply human story about motherhood, instinct and resilience. It explores that uncomfortable space where trust begins to break down and every relationship starts carrying a question. After Tribhanga, Maharaj and Ikka, I’m incredibly proud to bring Shaque: Trust No One to Netflix. I can’t wait for audiences to enter this world with us — and spend the journey guessing, questioning and wondering where the truth really lies.”

Director and co-creator Rensil D’Silva adds, “Shaque is a thriller built on uncertainty. Every revelation raises another question, and every relationship has another layer waiting to be uncovered. What fascinated me was the opportunity to tell a suspenseful story through the deeply emotional journey of a mother who has spent nine years refusing to give up. I've been fortunate to collaborate with Netflix on this bold, deeply emotional and layered story. We have tried to create a world where the audience is constantly second-guessing what they see and whom they trust. I hope Shaque keeps audiences guessing right until the very end.”

Joining Chopra are Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary, and Sumeet Vyas, who feature in this stellar ensemble. Together, the cast inhabits a world where every relationship carries its own questions, and every revelation has the power to change what you thought you knew.

Shaque: Trust No One premieres September 24, only on Netflix!

SCOOP: Karan Johar-Shanaya Kapoor’s Student Of The Year 3 gets a BOLD makeover; web series to be a Class-meets-Euphoria youth drama

After impressing audiences in Tu Yaa Main (2026), Shanaya Kapoor will next be seen in Student Of The Year 3. Bollywood Hungama has now learned some interesting details about the upcoming venture, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “To begin with, while Student Of The Year (2012) and Student Of The Year 2 (2019) were films, the third installment of Student Of The Year will be a web series. Secondly, the first two parts were candyfloss and light-hearted entertainers. Student Of The Year 3, meanwhile, is in an altogether different space.”

The source explained, “Student Of The Year 3 is darker, edgier and far more intense than the previous two instalments. Tonally, it is being envisioned as a Class-meets-Euphoria kind of show — blending the privileged, high-pressure world of young students, complicated friendships and relationships seen in Netflix’s Indian series Class with the bold, provocative and emotionally turbulent treatment associated with the globally popular Euphoria. Viewers will be pleasantly surprised by the conflicts, relationships and overall genre of the third part. Moreover, this kind of youth-driven, edgy content has an audience across markets, which could further widen its appeal and viewership.”

The source also stated, “Student Of The Year 3 is expected to release this year, on JioHotstar.” There were also reports that Student Of The Year 3 will be called Student Of The Year 3 – After The Dark but the source said that it may or may not be the final title. The official announcement will give a clearer idea about the same.

Student Of The Year 3 is directed by Reema Maya. As per reports, Shanaya Kapoor will be seen in a double role. The first part marked the debut of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, and was directed by Karan Johar. Student Of The Year 2, on the other hand, starred Tiger Shroff and launched Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. It was helmed by Punit Malhotra. Alia appeared in a song in the second part.

Mirzapur: The Movie faces controversy as Rapperiya Baalam alleges his song was used without permission

Mirzapur: The Movie has run into controversy shortly after its theatrical release over the reported use of a song by Rajasthani artist and rapper Rapperiya Baalam. The musician has alleged that his track ‘Shoorveer,’ which was created as a tribute to Maharana Pratap, was used in the film without his permission or credit.

The film released in theatres on Friday, September 4. Rapperiya Baalam subsequently took to Instagram to express his disappointment over the song’s inclusion in a sequence featuring gangsters.

“Today, my heart is broken. Some of you may ask why my heart is broken. You might say I should be happy because my song is in Mirzapur. But the Mirzapur team did not take my permission to use my song. Who gave them the permission? I certainly did not,” he said. Rapperiya Baalam questions use of ‘Shoorveer’ According to the artist, ‘Shoorveer’ was specifically created as a tribute to Maharana Pratap. He questioned the decision to use the song in a sequence that, in his view, presents the film’s gangsters in a glorified manner.

“This song is dedicated to Maharana Pratap ji. We are using this song to glorify the villains in the movie. Is this right?” he said.

Rapperiya Baalam also said he would have been open to collaborating with the team had they approached him directly.

“If the Mirzapur team had approached me and said, 'Rapperiya bhai, we want to use your song,' we would have given them 10 ideas. But taking the song without permission is not right,” he said.

The artist further raised questions about the copyright and licensing process involved in using the track.

“I don't know who gave you these rights or from whom you obtained them. Whoever gave you the rights, I would like you to ask them: Do you have any copyright?” he added.

Artist says he will pursue necessary action

Rapperiya Baalam also described the alleged use of the song as disrespectful towards Rajasthan and Maharana Pratap.

“Why wouldn't it hurt? This is an insult to Rajasthan. It is an insult to Maharana Pratap ji, and we will not be able to tolerate this,” he said.

At the same time, the musician acknowledged that the song’s appearance in the film had led many listeners to reach out to him. He said he received messages from people who recognised the track while watching Mirzapur: The Movie.

“Being the composer and singer of the song, and seeing millions of people listening to it, of course, your enthusiasm brings a lot of messages. Thousands of messages have come to me in DMs saying, 'Brother, your song is in Mirzapur.' But, Mirzapur team, you should have done this properly. You should have spoken to me,” he said.

Rapperiya Baalam concluded by indicating that he would take whatever steps he considers necessary. “Anyway, whatever action needs to be taken will continue,” he said.
