Shots fired outside Disha Patani’s UP house, Goldy Brar claims responsibility

In the early hours of Friday, at about 4:30 AM, two shots were reportedly fired outside the residence of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, located in Civil Lines, Bareilly. The firing was reportedly an aerial discharge; no one was injured during the incident.

Authorities believe the shots were fired in response to alleged comments made by Disha Patani concerning Hindu spiritual leaders Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. A group affiliated with Goldy Brar has claimed responsibility for the firing.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Bareilly, Anurag Arya, told India Today, “Immediately, the local police and a team from the Special Operations Group (SOG) reached the house and began the investigation. At least five teams have been formed to apprehend the accused. An adequate number of security personnel have been deployed at Patani’s home to ensure the safety of the family members.”

A social media post (in Hindi) surfaced shortly after the incident, naming two individuals Virendra Charan (of Rohit Godara Group) and Mahendra Saran as perpetrators. The message translated in English read, “Jai Shri Ram, Ram Ram to all brothers. I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana). Brothers, today, the firing that happened at Khushboo Patani/Disha Patani’s (Bollywood actress) house (Villa No. 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, UP). We got it done. She insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma. The insult of our deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer. Next time, if she or anyone else shows disrespect towards our religion, then no one in their house will be left alive. This message is not just for her, but also for all the artists of the film industry and those associated with them. Whoever in the future commits such an insulting act against our religion and saints should be ready to face the consequences. To protect our religion, we are ready to go to any extent. We will never back down. For us, our religion and society are one, and protecting them is our first duty.”

Police have not yet verified the authenticity of the social media post. Meanwhile, the investigation continues. Though Disha Patani and her sister Khushboo Patani had earlier criticised spiritual leader Aniruddhacharya for his remarks on women and live-in relationships, the connection between those comments and this attack is under scrutiny.

Homebound gets release date: Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor starrer to arrive in theatres on September 26, 2025

After making waves on the global festival circuit, Neeraj Ghaywan’s much-anticipated drama Homebound is all set for its theatrical release. On September 13, 2025, producer Karan Johar took to social media to announce that the film will release in cinemas worldwide on September 26, 2025. Sharing the update, Johar wrote, “No feeling is final. #Homebound is releasing in cinemas on 26th September, worldwide.” The film will later stream on Netflix.

Homebound had its world premiere in May 2025 at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was showcased in the prestigious Un Certain Regard section. The film later travelled to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where it earned a standing ovation at its North American premiere earlier this month.

Directed and written by Ghaywan, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharma Productions. An adaptation of a 2020 New York Times article by Basharat Peer, Homebound stars Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa. It follows two childhood friends navigating the pressures of life as they prepare for the national police exam.

Adding further weight to the project, Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese came on board earlier this year as an executive producer. In April, Johar revealed Scorsese’s association with the film by posting the filmmaker’s handwritten note of appreciation for Ghaywan’s vision. Praising the director, Scorsese wrote, “I have watched Neeraj’s first film Masaan in 2015 and I loved it… Neeraj has created a beautifully made film that’s a valuable addition to Indian Cinema.”

Ghaywan credited Scorsese for mentoring him during the film’s development, screenplay revisions, and editing. Speaking about the experience, he said, “(It) is an honour beyond words… Mr. Scorsese mentored us through the screenplay and multiple rounds of editing. He listened with care, understood the cultural context, and offered thoughtful, incisive notes each time.”

Aamir Khan REVEALS the reason for his weight gain: "No, it's not for a role. I have been having these…"

There are reports in a section of the media that Aamir Khan has bulked up for his biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke.

However, the truth is not that creative. When I touched base with Aamir, he shocked me by revealing that the reason for his weight gain is medication for a health condition.

Says Aamir, “No, no, the weight gain is not for a role. Actually, you know, I have been having these migraines for some time and for that I need to be on a steroid treatment. And that steroid treatment causes me to put on weight; I can't help it. In fact, I've started my diet and workout because I need to get back into shape for, you know, whatever my next film is.”

So is Aamir cured of his condition? “No, because, you know, they're not able to figure out why it's happening. The steroid is taking the headaches away. But I can't keep taking steroids. In fact, I have an appointment the day after with the doctor. So, that's the reason for the weight thing. They're very good doctors, but sometimes, you know, it's difficult to diagnose exactly why it's happening. I understand it's complicated. At least they're not sending me on the wrong path. They're just still figuring out exactly what's wrong.”

BREAKING: Mirai ends with the promise of a sequel titled Mirai: Jaithraya; to feature Rana Daggubati in an evil avatar

The Pan-India mythological-fantasy film Mirai has been released today worldwide. The excitement for it is there due to the subject, casting, exciting trailer and also the association of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for the Hindi version. Bollywood Hungama has learned that Mirai is not just a one-part saga. The makers have intended it to be a multi-part series and the hint about it is given towards the end of the film.

Mirai ends with the promise of a sequel. The title of the second part is mentioned in the end slate - Mirai: Jaithraya. That’s not all. A mid-credit scene is shown to the audience and it introduces the new villain of the series – Rana Daggubati!

Further, Rana’s character is shown to possess a mysterious power. It is quite intriguing and with this scene, the makers make it clear that Veda, the protagonist, is up for a bigger threat in the sequel. Rana Daggubati looks apt for the casting and moreover, his role will surely remind one of his legendary villainous act as Bhallaladeva in Baahubali.

Mirai stars Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran and others. Written and directed by Karthik Gattamneni, it is the story of an orphan who realizes that he is in the world for the greater good and to stop an evil force. Teja plays the protagonist Veda while Manchu Manoj is the villain, Mahabhir Lama.

At the trailer launch of Mirai’s Hindi version in Mumbai, Teja Sajja remarked, “Why does nobody question when the same love story is made again and again, but the moment we try to tell a story inspired by our ‘dharma’, people start raising doubts? The significant winners of the 71st National Film Awards

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's VVC Films won the Best Feature Film award for 12th Fail. Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was awarded the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award. Sudipto Sen won the Best Direction honour for The Kerala Story. The award for Best Actor was shared by Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan and Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Rani Mukerji was honoured with the Best Actress award for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Hema Malini welcomes MG M9 Electric MPV at Rs. 69.90 lakh packed with luxury features

Veteran Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Hema Malini has added the luxury electric MPV MG M9 to her garage, escalating her foray into the EV segment.

The MG M9 was officially launched in India in July with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 69.90 lakh. Previously driving an MG Hector, Hema Malini now boasts two vehicles from JSW-MG Motor.

According to posts shared online, the delivery event was intimate and festive. The video footage shows Ms. Malini removing the car cover, performing puja rituals, and exploring the vehicle’s interior. The boot (trunk) was decorated with balloons and photographs. She chose the Pearl Lustre White shade; MG also offers the model in Metal Black and Concrete Grey.

Automobile enthusiasts were surely drawn to the glimpses of Hema Malini’s MG M9, a feature-packed model that has been gaining popularity since its launch in August 2025. Notable highlights include a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, 7-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated seats, dual panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, air purifier, and a 12-speaker sound system.

In addition, the MG M9 offers 64-color ambient lighting, sunshades, rain-sensing wipers, reclining ottoman seats with eight massage modes, and three-zone climate control. On the safety front, it comes equipped with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and level-2 ADAS for advanced driver assistance.

The electric MPV boasts a driving range of up to 548 kilometres on a full charge. It is powered by a 90 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that produces 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. For performance enthusiasts, the MG M9 can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in under 10 seconds.

At present, the MG M9 faces no direct competition in the market. However, it is anticipated to rival the Kia Carnival in the future while positioning itself as a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Vellfire. The MPV is priced at Rs. 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger to roar back to cinemas for a grand re-release

Nawazuddin Siddiqui begins shooting for Ravi Varma’s Blind Babu

Acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has officially signed on for the upcoming dark-comedy thriller Blind Babu, directed by Ravi Varma. The project is now in production, with filming underway.

Ravi Varma unveiled the news via his Instagram account, sharing a series of photos featuring Siddiqui alongside the film’s crew. In one snapshot, the actor and directors proudly hold the clapboard titled Blind Babu, signalling the start of filming. Another image features the entire team posing together, while a close-up of the clapperboard hints at the film's unique tone.

Accompanying the visuals is Varma’s caption, “Ab bomb phatega ya kuch aur? Get ready for the chaos that will trap you in edge-of-the-seat suspense... but with dark comic relief... The journey of #BlindBabu begins now!”

Veteran actors Zakir Hussain, Pavan Malhotra, and Mukesh Tiwari are also expected to play pivotal roles in the film, though many details about the cast and crew remain under wraps.

In addition to this new venture, Siddiqui's film I’m Not An Actor premiered at the 14th DC South Asian Film Festival in Washington, D.C., held from September 5–7.

Sharing his thoughts on the experience, Nawazuddin had said, “The festival is a very warm, cozy festival. They’re very caring of Asian films, and it brings us joy that ours is the opening film. We are all looking forward to seeing it with audiences from Washington. For me, to see an actor who is shooting in another country, thousands of miles away, on a video call, and act with them only on the video call for 30 days was a very new experience. After some point, we forgot about the technology and only focused on the emotions.”

Siddiqui is also set to appear in Raat Akeli Hai 2. He will also be seen in the horror-comedy Thama, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama marks another intriguing entry in Siddiqui’s expanding filmography.

Prajakta Koli cancels Nepal trip amid Gen Z protests and violence

Prajakta Koli is deeply affected by the growing violence and unrest in Nepal, with the disturbing visuals and reports leaving her saddened. She has chosen to cancel her planned trip to the country and expressed solidarity with those suffering from the crisis.

On Tuesday, Prajakta shared her concern and sorrow over the ongoing unrest in Nepal through an Instagram Story. In her note, she conveyed her thoughts and extended solidarity with those impacted by the situation.

Prajakta wrote, “What happened in Nepal yesterday is truly heartbreaking. Any form of celebration at such a time feels inappropriate. My heart goes out to the families of those who have suffered. The upheaval in Nepal stems from protests led by Generation Z sparked by the government’s decision to shut down popular social media platforms for failing to register with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. This move ignited widespread anger rooted in long-standing issues of corruption, nepotism, and economic marginalization of youth.

Despite the government's efforts to reverse the social media ban, protestors remain undeterred. Several sites of authority including Parliament, the President’s Office, the Prime Minister’s residence, Supreme Court, and party headquarters have been set ablaze. A particularly tragic incident led to the death of Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal. In the midst of the crisis, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned, and the Nepali Army has assumed control of security operations.

Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) requests Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to release The Bengal Files in West Bengal

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files has finally hit the big screens, standing tall as one of the boldest films ever made in Indian cinema. The narrative moves seamlessly between the past and the present, uncovering the harsh truths of Direct Action Day on 16th August 1946. While the film has been released worldwide, exhibitors in West Bengal are refraining from screening it in theatres due to political pressure. Since the film has been certified by the CBFC, the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) has requested the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, to intervene in the matter and help facilitate the release of the film in West Bengal.

The Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) has written a letter to the Honorable Prime Minister seeking his intervention for the release of The Bengal Files in West Bengal. The request has been made for urgent action to ensure the film’s release in the state. As the film has already received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for public exhibition, it should be allowed to release in West Bengal so that the rule of law is upheld and certified works of art can be freely and safely exhibited across the country.

IMPPA has further stated that the producers and distributors are facing intimidation and obstacles, while the State Government has failed to ensure the basic safety and law-and-order environment necessary for the free and fair release of the film.

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took to his social media and shared the letter from IMPPA and wrote - "Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association comes out strongly in support of #TheBengalFiles and writes to @PMOIndia @narendramodi to intervene against the illegal and unconstitutional banning of the film by the West Bengal government of @MamataOfficial."

The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions, is part of Vivek’s Files trilogy, which includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. Salman Khan starts shooting for Battle of Galwan; sports uniform and moustache look

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has dropped the first official look from his upcoming film Battle of Galwan on his Instagram as he has begun shooting for the film. The picture showcases Salman in full military regalia, rugged moustache and a fierce gaze that embodies raw patriotism.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film revisits the harrowing 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops,  a rare border skirmish that turned deadly without any firearms being used. Instead, soldiers resorted to hand-to-hand combat with sticks and stones, making it one of the most emotionally charged stories in recent Indian history.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra face Look Out Circular as EOW probes Rs 60.48 crores investment fraud: Reports

Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, turned 50 on September 9, 2025. However, his milestone birthday comes under a cloud as the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has summoned him in connection with a Rs 60.48 crore cheating case. According to reports, Kundra was initially directed to appear before investigators on September 10 but sought an extension. He has now been asked to appear on September 15.

In the meantime, a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against both Kundra and Shetty to prevent them from leaving India. According to a report by Free Press Journal, a senior EOW official confirmed that summons have also been issued to the auditor of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as part of the probe.

The complaint was filed by Deepak Kothari (60), Director of Lotus Capital Financial Services. He alleged that between 2015 and 2023, he invested Rs 60.48 crore in Best Deal TV Pvt. Ltd.—a company promoted by Kundra and Shetty—for business expansion.

Kothari claimed that instead of being utilized for business, the funds were siphoned off and diverted for the couple’s personal use. He said he was introduced to Kundra by a mutual acquaintance and was assured of monthly returns along with repayment of the principal investment.

At the time of investment, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra together held 87.6% shares in Best Deal TV, an online shopping and retail platform. However, Shetty resigned from the company in 2016. Kothari later discovered that insolvency proceedings had been initiated against the firm after another investor accused the promoters of fraud.

The EOW had previously summoned Shetty and Kundra three times during its preliminary inquiry. The couple, citing their stay in London, sent their attorney instead. Investigators found the information provided by the attorney inadequate, which led to the registration of a formal FIR.

The case has been filed under IPC Sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 34 (common intention).

While Kundra’s 50th birthday marks a personal milestone, celebrations are likely to take a backseat as the businessman prepares to face questioning by the EOW. The probe is expected to intensify in the coming days, with the LOC ensuring that neither Kundra nor Shetty can leave the country until the investigation progresses.

Nora Fatehi exits Ragini MMS 3 due to scheduling conflicts: Report

Bollywood actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has reportedly exited the upcoming film Ragini MMS 3 due to scheduling conflicts, according to an exclusive report by Filmfare.

According to sources, “A recent wave of reports has been speculating about Nora Fatehi’s association with Ragini MMS 3. Nora was, in fact, the first choice for Balaji, with the makers keen to sign her given her global popularity and recent music chartbusters like Tetema along with her international collaborations. She has been consistently making waves both in India and on the global stage.”

The sources also revealed that her exit was mainly due to scheduling conflicts. The source added, “However, with a packed calendar and multiple projects running parallel including a major international shoot in Los Angeles that’s still under wraps Nora had to step away from the project.”

In her place, actress Tamannaah Bhatia is being considered for the lead role. Sources stated that, “Tamannaah has now been brought on board, with her current focus resting firmly on Bollywood.”

Despite her exit from the franchise, Fatehi and producer Ekta Kapoor continue to share a strong professional rapport. The source also added, “That said, Nora and Ekta Kapoor continue to share a strong professional rapport, and industry buzz suggests the two are likely to collaborate soon on a much bigger and more ambitious project.”

Tiger Shroff sells Mumbai apartment for Rs. 15.60 crore: Square Yards

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff sold one apartment in Khar, Mumbai, for Rs. 15.60 crore, according to property registration documents accessed via the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) Maharashtra website, https://ift.tt/ug1ivOa. reported by property portal Square Yards. The transaction was registered in September 2025.

Khar is considered one of Mumbai’s established real estate markets, known for its premium residential and commercial developments. The locality offers a mix of upscale apartments and commercial spaces, drawing interest from both homebuyers and investors. It is well-connected through the Western Express Highway and upcoming Metro lines, and is located close to key business hubs such as Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Lower Parel, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

According to property registration documents from the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), reviewed by Square Yards, the apartment sold by Tiger Shroff is located in Rustomjee Paramount. The apartment has carpet area of 1,989.72 sq.ft. (~184.85 sq.m.) and built-up area of 203.34 sq. m. (~2,189 sq. ft.). The transaction also includes three car parking spaces. The deal incurred a stamp duty payment of Rs. 93.60 lakh along with registration charges of Rs. 30,000. Square Yards’ analysis of IGR property registration documents suggests that Shroff bought the property in 2018 for Rs. 11.62 crore.

Tiger Shroff, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, is a Bollywood actor known for his action roles and dance skills. He made his debut in 2014 with Heropanti and is trained in martial arts, often performing his own stunts. Outside of films, he has gained a strong following for his focus on fitness and lifestyle.\

The acclaimed filmmaker said, “I didn’t have any knowledge about it and I got to know about it from the people who saw it over there. They messaged me, ‘We saw the poster of Ek Tha Tiger and it’s the only Hindi film there in the whole galaxy of films’. I found it very amusing and it was great to see Salman and Katrina’s faces on that wall!”

He observed, “Some films take a life of their own as the years pass. Ek Tha Tiger is one such film that has grown in popularity, also because it subsequently became part of the Spyverse initiated by Yash Raj. Being the first film of the universe gives it a certain exalted position. To date, I receive numerous messages about it, and they appreciate what we did at that point in time. Those were the days when we were not relying so much on VFX for action. I feel that as a filmmaker and an audience, there’s a difference when you attempt raw, real and gritty action. Too much dependence on VFX doesn’t connect.”

Kabir Khan also remarked on another factor that went in favour of Ek Tha Tiger, “It was the first film to bring out that spy genre in a big way, featuring stars like Salman and Katrina. That also helped.”

When asked when he had been getting messages about Ek Tha Tiger’s honour at the International Spy Museum, he replied, “This must have been a recent addition. The first message I got, informing me about it, was a few months ago.”

BREAKING: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle creates HISTORY with its advance booking; to be the FIRST Japanese film to have 5:00 am shows in India

The anime market in India is niche but also significant and this has been proved yet again by the bookings of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle. It is all set to release on Friday, September 13 and many shows are already sold out or about to get house full, astonishing the trade and industry.

The advance booking opened on Friday, September 5 and in no time, the tickets started getting sold like hot cakes. The demand is especially high for the Japanese 2D IMAX version. Looking at the response, shows as early as 5 am have been added. In the IMAX screen at Cinepolis Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, a 5:20 am show of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle will be played on the release day. Such early morning shows have become common in the post-pandemic for biggies, but this is the first time that a Japanese film has achieved this feat in India.

The IMAX at PVR Vegas Dwarka and Inox Vishal Mall in Delhi will each have a 6:40 am show while PVR Ambience Gurugram and PVR Select City Walk will play shows at 7:30 am. In Bengaluru, 6:30 am shows have been incorporated in the IMAX screens at PVR Nexus, Inox Mantri Square and Inox Galleria Mall. The earliest show in India, as of now, is at Inox Megaplex, Pune. It'll play the 5:15 am show, that is, 5 minutes before the show at Cinepolis Seawoods. With demand for tickets increasing with each passing day, many more such early morning shows are expected to be added not just in IMAX properties but also in non-IMAX theatres.

As for Friday night, PVR sold 25,000 tickets of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle, while Cinepolis had a sale of 6,000 tickets. However, in the last 24 hours, more than 65,000 tickets have been sold on the ticketing app BookMyShow. Hence, expect the Japanese anime film to take a surprising start on September 12.

Boney Kapoor ADMITS, “Maidaan’s original budget was Rs. 120 cr; went up to Rs. 210 cr due to Covid delays”; reveals he has paid money back to every vendor, “Some cut down cost by 10%; they would tell me, ‘Pados ke office ki film super-hit hui hai. Uske paise aaj tak nahin mile hai’”

Boney Kapoor’s much-awaited film Maidaan (2024), starring Ajay Devgn, was finally released after years of delay due to Covid-19. Despite getting unanimous acclaim, it failed to work at the box office. Boney Kapoor, in an interview to Komal Nahta, said that he has paid money to all the vendors, though he suffered a huge loss.

Boney said, “If the film didn’t work, how are the vendors to blame? They patiently waited. For instance, a vendor charged Rs. 100 for his services. I paid him Rs. 60 while the film was in production. I owed him Rs. 40. For those Rs. 40, he waited for 4 years. Will it be fair after I tell such vendors after all these years, ‘My film has flopped and hence, I can’t pay’? I borrowed money to pay them.”

He continued, “A few of them met me with their father. This is because their father had also worked with me earlier. They got mithai ka dabba aur woh mujhe aashirwad deke gaye hai. Then there were some who voluntarily cut down on 10-15% of the amount that I owed them. They would tell me, ‘Pados ke office ki film super-hit hui hai. Uske paise aaj tak nahin mile hai’, ‘yeh producer ke itne paise balance hai’. I would tell them, ‘Mujhe kuch nahin sunna hai. What I owe you (I’ll pay you)’.”

Boney Kapoor further stated, “This has happened even before the release of No Entry. If I assure someone that they’ll be paid in a month and before he would call me, I would phone him and tell him, ‘Yaar, 15 din aur late ho jaayenge’. Also, I never changed my number. Isse yeh hota hai ki jisko paise lene hai, uska hausla rehta hai. Iske liye himmat chahiye. I could look into the eyes of every person I owe money because I know I’ll pay him back. I believe this goodwill has kept me relevant even today (smiles).”

Boney Kapoor then opened up on the difficulties he faced in making Maidaan, “I suffered losses as the film was stranded for 4-4 ½ years because of Covid. 70% of the shoot was completed in January 2020. We were all set to shoot the matches from March 22. 250 actors playing foreign team players had arrived in Mumbai. Who had imagined that it would go on for so long? I kept the unit here until the last flight of the actors' origin country. This happened many times. Moreover, my set got washed out during the cyclone.”

Boney was asked about the rising cost and he confessed, “The original budget was Rs. 120 crores. But due to delays and Covid, the cost went up to Rs. 210 crores.”

He also said, “We had a unit of 600-800 people during the shoot of the matches. Because of Covid, there were restrictions. I used to order food from Taj Flight Kitchens. There were 4 ambulances. No one was allowed to eat together. They were given food packets and if they needed a refill of the meal, tents were set up for it. We didn’t give them local water. We signed a deal with a particular brand to supply water. Uska accha khaasa bill tha. We had to give the foreign actors the assurance that the water is safe for them to consume. All this added to the cost, more so when you did it over a period of 3 years.”

He revealed, “During the shoot of match scenes, there were hardly any foreigners in Mumbai. Even if we had to do multiplication during VFX, we needed 1000-2000 junior artists to show a crowd of 40,000 people. Hence, we had to fly to Bangkok for those sequences. For the stadium exterior, we shot outside different universities in Bangkok.”

Boney Kapoor reveals why Sridevi charged Rs. 70 lakhs lesser for Mom: “She told me, ‘Mujhe mat dena par A R Rahman ko le lo’”; also talked about her not-so-known talents: “She did 90% of her makeup; would sketch the outfits…”

7 ½ years ago, Boney Kapoor’s wife Sridevi passed away suddenly, shocking the industry and fans at large. In an interview with Komal Nahta, Boney Kapoor opened up about her not-so-known talents.

He began by saying, “She had a lot of understanding about filmmaking. She used to realize that the lighting was not perfect. 90% of the makeup, she used to do on her own. She would decide what kind of hair would suit the costume. She would sketch the outfits she felt would be appropriate. For the costumes of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), Leena Daru was sent to Kashmir to where Sri was shooting, as she was not happy with the clothes sent to her for trial. She gave the costume idea and colour scheme. Consequently, I had to change the colour scheme of the set to match the costume!”

Boney continued, “So, she used to sketch everything. You can check with Manish Malhotra and Neeta Lulla how much she has contributed to their growth.”

Boney Kapoor revealed, “Initially, her 4-5 Hindi films were dubbed. She felt her performance was compromised. So, she learned Hindi. She would have a Hindi teacher in the dubbing studio. That’s how she started dubbing on her own. For Mom (2017), she dubbed for the Tamil and Telugu version. For the Malayalam version, there was a dubbing artist. Yet, she sat with her to see that the dubbing was in sync with the performance. Very few artists have such dedication.”

He also said, “For Mom, we wanted to hire A R Rahman. But he was expensive and we couldn’t afford him. We had allotted money for Sri’s fees as well. She told me, ‘I don’t want the balance money’. It was a good, substantial amount of Rs. 50-70 lakhs. She told me, ‘Mujhe mat dena par Rahman ko le lo’!”

In an interview with Komal Nahta, Boney Kapoor blasted producer Shobu Yarlagadda of Baahubali over her claims that his deceased wife, Sridevi made unreasonable demands as a condition for signing S S Rajamouli’s two-part epic.

Boney began by saying, “The film with Rajamouli, Baahubali, didn’t happen. But I still have a message sent by Rajamouli, stating that he was a fan of Sri as an actor but after interacting with her, his respect for her has increased manifold because of the inputs that she had given (for Baahubali).”

When asked why she didn’t work in the film, Boney Kapoor revealed, “It was a misunderstanding created by the damn producer. Rajamouli came home and we had a lengthy discussion. When the commercials were being talked about, he left the room. That producer offered her money which was less than what she got for English Vinglish (2012). My wife was not a struggling actor. By casting her, the producer would have got some advantage in the Hindi and Tamil speaking markets. If he was not going to respect that aspect, then why would she work in his film? I guess producer ne yeh cheez Rajamouli ko nahin batayi thi. Rajamouli was told that she demanded a full floor of the hotel, entourage etc. The only thing we had requested was to try and plan the big schedule when the children have holidays so that they can also attend.”

Boney Kapoor further said, “During English Vinglish’s outdoor shot, I paid for the hotel room and flight tickets of the kids. I used to stay in Sri’s suite as it had two bedrooms. So, these producers were the culprits who fed the wrong things to Rajamouli. I am a witness to it and I can say it to the producer’s face. In one of the interviews, Rajamouli said that she asked for a full floor of the hotel and an entourage. Aisa kuch nahin tha. If it were the case, why would D Ramanaidu work in 6 films with her? Why would K Raghavendra Rao work in more than 20 films with her? Why would Rakesh Roshan work with her in 3 films and Yash Chopra in 4? Would they have cast her repeatedly if she were unprofessional?”

Boney ended his answer by explaining, “There was no regret that it didn’t happen. But the way it didn’t happen was wrong. They could have said that they can’t afford to pay so much. The producer is related to K Raghavendra Rao. He told K Raghavendra Rao a different figure. He told him that he was offering a huge amount to Boney and yet we declined. It was a lie. I told K Raghavendra Rao, ‘They never offered this money’.”

Vivek Agnihotri’s latest film, The Bengal Files, the third installment in his controversial ‘Files trilogy’ after The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, has sparked a heated political storm even before completing its first weekend at the box office. While the film opened in multiplexes and theatres across India and abroad, it has conspicuously not been released in Kolkata or any part of West Bengal — a move that has escalated into a full-blown political tussle.

The political drama, written and directed by Agnihotri, revisits one of the darkest and most debated chapters of India’s history: the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots. Portraying the events as a “genocide of Bengali Hindus,” the film alleges that these violent episodes were deliberately suppressed or underreported in mainstream narratives. With a star cast that includes Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Saswata Chatterjee, and Simrat Kaur among others, the film had been anticipated to draw attention both for its content and its political undertones.

However, the controversy deepened when BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya accused the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government of unofficially banning the film. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Malviya wrote: “The Bengal Files, a film on the genocide of Bengali Hindus, has released worldwide, except in West Bengal and Pakistan. Mamata Banerjee should wear this as a badge of honour: not only has she insulted the sacrifice of Bengali Hindus who fought for their own homeland, but she has also placed them in the same bracket as a radicalised nation.”

The Trinamool Congress, however, has denied any role in the non-release of the film, insisting that the decision lay solely with theatre owners and multiplex operators. Party leaders have maintained that the government has nothing to do with it.

Countering this, actress and producer Pallavi Joshi alleged that the West Bengal government, including police officials, had threatened theatre owners to prevent screenings. She revealed that she had formally appealed to the President of India to ensure the film’s release in the state.

The clash over The Bengal Files now adds another chapter to the ongoing political battles between the BJP and Trinamool Congress, with freedom of expression, historical interpretation, and electoral positioning all intertwined in the debate.

Bandish Bandits star Ritwik Bhowmik is all set to make his theatrical debut with Abhootpurva (meaning Unprecedented). Bhowmik, who commands a huge online following, has become one of the breakout stars of his generation. The film, described as a unique Rom-Hor-Com, a blend of romance, horror, and comedy, brings together Bhowmik with seven acclaimed actors and a female lead, whose names will be revealed in a full cast announcement next month.

Set against the backdrop of Agra in the 90s, Abhootpurva is pitched as a heartwarming and fun theatrical experience. The film is produced by Khyati Madaan under her banner Not Out Entertainment, and Sumit Kumar Mishra. Cameras are scheduled to roll in November 2025.

This marks Not Out Entertainment’s second major announcement this year, after the reveal of Ahan Shetty’s upcoming film, positioned as India’s first horror feature inspired by a national tragedy. Madaan, who previously spearheaded campaigns at major Indian studios such as Red Chillies Entertainment, Disney India, and Maddock Films, recently unveiled a diverse production slate that includes a slice-of-life drama directed by Habib Faisal (Do Dooni Chaar, Ishaqzaade) alongside these genre-bending projects.

Bhowmik rose to fame as the male lead in Bandish Bandits and has since appeared in a range of OTT projects, including The Whistleblower, Modern Love Mumbai, and Maja Ma. Abhootpurva marks his transition to the big screen with a story positioned as both unconventional and theatrical in scope.

It’s a wrap! Kartik Aaryan and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri team conclude shooting on day 57: “Unforgettable, fun-filled, super-fast roller-coaster ride”

Actor Kartik Aaryan has officially wrapped shooting for his upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The actor took to social media to share the news with fans, posting a video from the wrap-up bash on set and a long note expressing gratitude to the cast and crew.

Calling the 57-day schedule “an unforgettable, fun-filled, super-fast roller-coaster ride,” Kartik thanked director Sameer Vidwans for steering the project, as well as producers Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Adar Poonawalla for their support. “Energies matter. Vibes matter!! And that’s exactly why the presence of @karanjohar @apoorva1972 @bhumikabhandula and @adarpoonawalla made it all the more special,” he wrote.

Kartik also dedicated warm words to his co-star Ananya Panday, writing, “Thank you for being such a wonderful costar. No one else could have brought to life what you did in TMMT with your presence. It’s always pure joy working with you.”

The film also features veteran actors Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta, with whom Kartik collaborated for the first time. Sharing his excitement, he noted, “I can only express my heartfelt gratitude for their blessings and learnings. Just wait to witness their magic on the big screen.”

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri went on floors in May 2025, with shooting beginning in Croatia before moving to Nawalgarh in Rajasthan. The film is directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously collaborated with Kartik on Satyaprem Ki Katha. The film is expected to release on Valentine’s Day 2026.

Amitabh Bachchan donates Rs 11 lakh to Lalbaugcha Raja

Amitabh Bachchan, like every year, expressed his devotion to Lord Ganesha by contributing to Mumbai’s most popular Ganpati pandal, Lalbaugcha Raja. The veteran actor, who is a regular visitor to the shrine along with his family, made a generous offering of Rs 11 lakh this year.

A video shared by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani showed Lalbaugcha Raja secretary Sudhir Salvi holding a cheque worth Rs 11 lakh near the grand idol of Lord Ganesha. The caption accompanying the video read, “Amitabh Bachchan Ji generously donated Rs 11 lakh to Lalbaugcha Raja, received by Secretary Sudhir Salvi ji!”

While many acknowledged the gesture as a mark of faith, a section of social media users voiced disapproval. Several netizens argued that the donation could have been directed towards relief efforts for states grappling with severe floods, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu.

One user commented, “Punjab ke liye karte to zyada khushi milti.” Another wrote, “Kya faida idhar karne ka? Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir are suffering the worst time with floods… He should donate there. Yeh sab chairman khaate hai paise.”

A different comment read, “Ye paise waha donate karo jaha sabse zyada zaroorat hai. Itni baadh aayi hai jaha-jaha bhi vaha sabse zyada zaroorat hai. Bhagwan ke paas to sab kuch hai.” Echoing similar sentiments, another user added, “Ameer ameer ho rahe hain, gareeb aur gareeb ho rahe hain.”

Speaking of the professional front, the 82-year-old is currently seen hosting his popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Allahabad High Court rejects plea against release of Jolly LLB 3: Report

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea against Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, bringing major relief to the makers. The petition had sought a ban on the movie’s release and action against its song Bhai Vakeel Hai, alleging that it defamed the judiciary and the legal profession.

A division bench comprising Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh stated that they found nothing objectionable in the song’s lyrics, trailer, or teaser of the film. The court noted, “We do not see any material that warrants interference. After reviewing the lyrics of Bhai Vakeel Hai, we find nothing that could hinder the practice of the legal profession by genuine advocates.” The court, therefore, rejected the petition without levying any costs.

On August 20, a Pune court served notices to actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in connection with their film Jolly LLB 3. The notices came after lawyer Wajid Khan Bidkar filed a complaint alleging that the movie ridicules the judicial system and court proceedings.

In his petition, Bidkar alleged that Jolly LLB 3 depicts the legal profession in a negative light and demeans the judiciary. He particularly objected to a scene in which judges are addressed as “mamu,” a colloquial slang term. The court has directed Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi to appear before it on September 28.

Earlier, in May 2024, the film faced another hurdle when Chandrabhan, President of the Ajmer District Bar Association, filed a complaint against the makers. He alleged that the franchise shows the Indian judiciary in poor taste.

In his complaint, Chandrabhan asserted that the film portrays lawyers and judges in an “inappropriate” manner, which he described as “humorous and indecent." He also requested the court to halt the shooting of Jolly LLB 3.

Chandrabhan, while speaking to NBT, said, “This decision has been taken considering the first and second parts of Jolly LLB. It seems that the filmmakers, directors and actors do not respect the dignity and prestige of the judiciary of the country’s Constitution at all. The shooting of Jolly LLB 3 is going on in the surrounding villages and areas including the DRM office of Ajmer, which will continue for several days. Even during the shooting of this film, the actors of the film do not seem to be at all serious about the image, prestige and dignity of the judiciary including the judges.”

The first Jolly LLB movie was released in 2013, followed by its sequel in 2017. While the original starred Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, the sequel saw Akshay Kumar step into the lead role alongside Huma Qureshi.

The third installment, Jolly LLB 3, is produced by Star Studio18 and directed by Subhash Kapoor. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Gajraj Rao.

EXCLUSIVE: Here's why Kriti Sanon, Luv Ranjan were thanked in Param Sundari

The last release of August, Param Sundari, had a healthy opening and thanks to a good word of mouth, it managed to sustain well at the box office on weekdays. The film’s opening disclaimer had a surprise as the makers mentioned actress Kriti Sanon and producer-director Luv Ranjan of Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023) fame under ‘Special Thanks’. It made many moviegoers curious, with some even expecting Kriti to make a special appearance in the film.

However, Kriti Sanon doesn’t have a special appearance. A source explained to Bollywood Hungama why she was thanked, “As we all know, Kriti is the OG Param Sundari. There was a song by this name in her film Mimi (2011). The track got popular and made ‘Param Sundari’ a household term. Param Sundari, just like Mimi, was produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, and they decided to mention Kriti in the opening disclaimer for this connection. It was a thoughtful gesture on the part of team Maddock.”

Kriti Sanon has a long and deep association with Maddock Films. She has worked in 7 films of the production house – Raabta (2017), Luka Chuppi (2019), Arjun Patiala (2019), Mimi (2021), Hum Do Hamare Do (2021), Bhediya (2022) and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). Recently, it came to light that she has bagged one more film of Dinesh Vijan, Cocktail 2. She’s also expected to be a part of Bhediya 2.

At the success bash of Maddock Films thrown earlier this year, a video of the popular films of the banner were shown. When Kriti Sanon came to speak, she said, “said, “How many films have I done with Maddock? I was present in every third frame shown in the reel! I have done 7 films and will be starting my eighth film with Maddock very soon.” Talking about Dinesh, she said, “He believed me when no one did. There were questions like ‘Why her?’.”

As for Luv Ranjan, the source said, “He gave some valuable inputs to the makers of Param Sundari. The film is a bit in the quirky zone, which has always been Luv’s strength. Accordingly, he provided some suggestions that the makers incorporated. Hence, they thanked him for his contribution.”

Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in leading roles.

Aaliyah Kashyap calls out viewers for skipping quality films: “It’s honestly so frustrating…”

After the trailer launch of Nishaanchi which introduces Aaishvary Thackeray in his debut role, on Thursday. Aaliyah Kashyap daughter of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap used Instagram stories to express her frustration with audiences who claim to crave quality cinema but fail to support such films in theatres. She pointed to recent examples like Dhadak 2 to make her case.

She wrote, “It’s honestly so frustrating to see people CONSTANTLY say they want ‘good cinema’ but when good films actually release, hardly anyone goes to the theatre. This has been seen with so many films recently like Dhadak 2. And then years later they suddenly become cult classics or hidden gems.”

Encouraging her followers to watch Nishaanchi when it releases, she added, “My dad @anuragkashyap 10 new film Nishaanchi comes out on September 19th, and I’ve seen firsthand the amount of love, work, and heart everyone involved has poured into it. If we really want good, impactful and meaningful cinema, we can’t just appreciate it in hindsight. Great cinema doesn’t get better with time, it deserves to be seen NOW.”

In a follow-up Instagram post, Aaliyah lamented how some of Bollywood’s most critically praised films like The Lunchbox and October also underperformed at the box office despite receiving international acclaim. She stated, “And honestly this isn’t something that’s new or just happening now. Some of the most amazing and critically acclaimed Bollywood films (Udaan, Lootera, Lunchbox, Masaan, October etc.) struggled at the box office when they were released. They don’t get that support when it actually matters and when audiences don’t show up, it makes it that much harder for more films like that to get made.”

Nishaanchi, directed by Anurag, is co-written by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Anurag himself. The film showcases Aaishvary in a double role, alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in key performances. It is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the Jar Pictures banner, in collaboration with Flip Films.

EXCLUSIVE: Despite ‘A’ rating, CBFC asks for cuts in 23 scenes in Baaghi 4; frontal nude scene 'hidden', 'b****e' and 'fingering' replaced, 'condom' muted

Tiger Shroff has been known to do films targeted at the audiences of all ages. But with Baaghi 4, he has made an exception. It is his first ‘A’ rated film due to excessive violence and bloodshed. Sadly, despite giving the film an adult-only rating, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for several cuts, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned.

Baaghi 4 was certified on August 26, in time for its release worldwide on September 5. However, the Examining Committee (EC) enforced 23 visual as well as audio cuts. The scene of the hero standing on a coffin was deleted. In a scene, a character lights a cigarette from a ‘niranjan diya’ and the EC asked the makers to delete the one-second shot. Then, a scene of rubbing the hand on the hip of a girl was replaced. There's a frontal nude scene in the film, which was 'hidden' by the CBFC.

Another scene of lighting a cigarette, this time from an amputated hand, was deleted. This particular shot was 13 seconds long. A shot where a knife is thrown towards the statue of Jesus Christ was deleted. The CBFC also asked the makers to remove the 'scene of hit of fist and the leaning of the statue of Jesus'.

Apart from these visual cuts, the CBFC used its scissors in several violent scenes. At three places, the EC deleted scenes of throats being cut. The EC also axed shots of hands being cut and two shots of goons being cut and killed by swords. In a particular sequence, the scene of excessive violence, totaling 11 seconds, was deleted. Lastly, a scene of killing by inserting a sword in someone's skull was deleted.

Coming to the audio cuts, the words 'bhang b*****a' were replaced while the words 'b****e' and 'fingering' used by cops were replaced with appropriate terms. In the dialogue 'Bhai tujhe condom mein hi rehna chahiye tha', the word 'condom' was muted. Meanwhile, in the dialogue 'Tera wajood hi mit jaayega God' was replaced with 'Sab dekhte reh jayenge'. Finally, the dialogue 'Woh bhi darta hai mujhse' was deleted while 'Don khoke, ekdum ok' was muted.

Once these changes were made, Baaghi 4 was passed with an ‘A’ certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 163.50 minutes. In other words, Baaghi 4 is 2 hours, 43 minutes and 50 seconds long.

3 days later, on August 29, the makers of Baaghi 4 approached the CBFC once again as they decided to further cut down the film’s length. They shortened the duration of as many as 19 scenes and removed 6 minutes and 45 seconds of the film. The final run time of the film is 157.05 minutes, that is, 2 hours, 37 minutes and 5 seconds. This is the third film in recent times to go for voluntary cuts after receiving certification, the other two being War 2 and The Bengal Files.

Industry insiders suggest that the closure comes amid financial strain faced by the Kundra family. Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra are currently embroiled in a high-profile legal matter. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has booked the couple for allegedly cheating a Mumbai-based businessman, Deepak Kothari, of Rs 60.4 crores in connection with a loan-cum-investment deal.

Reports indicated that Kothari had invested the sum between 2015 and 2023, under the pretext of expanding a business through the now-defunct company Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, but claimed that the funds were allegedly misused for personal expenses. An unknown third party has also been charged in connection with the case.

The EOW is currently investigating the matter, but the couple’s legal representatives have dismissed the allegations, stating they are purely civil in nature. According to the lawyer, the dispute was adjudicated by the NCLT Mumbai on October 4, 2024, adding that no criminal wrongdoing has been established.

Acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is facing a legal controversy after an FIR was filed against him and two members of his team in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The complaint, lodged on Monday, September 1, by line producer Prateek Taj Mathur, alleges fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust.

According to Circle Officer Vishal Jangid, Mathur claimed that he was hired as a line producer for Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War, but his contract was later abruptly cancelled, revealed a PTI report. He alleged that Bhansali, along with producers Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali, removed him from the project without paying him, despite his taking on multiple responsibilities during production.

Mathur stated in the FIR that he had arranged all necessary resources for the shoot and coordinated with government departments as required. However, when he attempted to meet Bhansali’s team at a hotel, he was allegedly met with misbehaviour and disrespect. The FIR has been registered under charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation, and Bichhwal SHO Govind Singh Charan is currently investigating the matter.

The FIR raises serious questions about the internal handling of production responsibilities and the professional conduct of those involved in the project. As of now, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team have not issued a response regarding the allegations.

Love & War, directed by Bhansali, is an epic saga starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. The film reportedly features Ranbir and Vicky as Indian Air Force pilots. Several portions of the movie were recently shot in Rajasthan. As per the latest reports, it has been learnt that a visual from the film is expected to be unveiled on Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday, September 28, although it remains unconfirmed whether this will be a first look poster or a teaser featuring all three actors. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in March 2026.

With the FIR now registered and the investigation underway, the legal dispute has cast a shadow over the production of what is expected to be one of the most anticipated films of 2026.

John Abraham to reboot Force franchise with Force 3 — big action face-off planned

Diljit Dosanjh exits No Entry 2 due to schedule conflicts: Report

The eagerly awaited sequel to the 2005 comedy hit No Entry, titled No Entry 2, has encountered a significant setback. Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has exited the project, citing tight scheduling as the reason for his departure.

Initially announced as one of the three leads alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, Dosanjh’s packed commitments ultimately forced him to opt out. He is set to embark on his “Aura Tour” in Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13, 2025, which clashes directly with the film’s planned shooting schedule. Additionally, he has other film projects lined up during that period, leaving no room for the sequel’s production. Despite producer Boney Kapoor’s efforts to coordinate and find a mutually agreeable time, both parties decided to “part ways amicably.”

Diljit, however, has not stepped away due to the reported creative differences or the controversy surrounding Hania Amir’s casting in Sardaar 3. His departure is solely the result of irreconcilable scheduling conflicts. The Punjabi singer-actor was supposed to play one of the three leading men alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in this Anees Bazmee directorial, produced by Boney Kapoor.

A source close to the project told Peepingmoon, “Diljit’s packed touring schedule was becoming a challenge for the No Entry team. The film requires extensive planning for its massive sequel, and unfortunately, Diljit’s dates just couldn’t align. Given these constraints, both sides have amicably and mutually decided to part ways.”

With Dosanjh's departure, the team is now scouting for a replacement, a process that may delay the film's production timeline. Industry insiders suggest that securing another suitable lead at short notice may be difficult, adding to the project's uncertainty.

Director Anees Bazmee has publicly acknowledged the development with composure. “Main kabhi safaiyaan nahi deta,” he stated, dismissing speculation about creative disagreements. He emphasized, “I’m just happy that the film is getting made. There’s no bigger joy than that,” recalling that casting changes are nothing new in his experience. He expressed confidence that the audience ultimately embraces the choices made. “It’s not like I’ve always worked with my first choices. I’ve had to work with my second and even third choices. But the audience always ended up loving them.”

As the team navigates this casting transition, anticipation builds for how No Entry 2 will move forward with its ensemble now shifting course, fans await news of both a new lead and a confirmed shooting schedule.

Farhan Akhtar puts Jee Le Zaraa on hold: “I would hate to say that it is shelved”

Bollywood filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has finally spoken up about the fate of his much-anticipated road-trip drama titled Jee Le Zaraa and the news is not what fans might have feared. Despite years of silence since its big announcement, the film is not shelved, but it remains on hold.

In a recent interview on the YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions, Farhan explained the current status candidly. “I would hate to say that it is shelved. What I will say is that it has been put on the back burner. It is a film that will happen. Again, I don't know when it will be. But it's too delicious a script and there's so much work that has already been done on it.”

He further highlighted that significant preparatory work is already complete. “I have finished all location scouts, recorded music for the film. So it's just a matter of time that we come back and do it again,” Farhan shared. When pressed about the original dream cast of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt, he offered a cautious update: “I can't comment on the cast anymore, like what that will be and when that will land. But will the film happen? Ya, it will.”

The film was officially announced in 2021 as a female-centric road-trip tale—a potential successor in spirit to Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara—led by the formidable trio of Chopra, Bhatt, and Kaif. However, coordinating their schedules has proved a persistent challenge behind the scenes.

Previously, Alia Bhatt had voiced optimism about the project’s viability, acknowledging the logistical hurdles. In an earlier conversation with The Lallantop, she said, “Definitely hogi (It will happen). It's a film that everybody, actors, producers, directors, wants to make,” though she admitted, “logistically, kaafi difficult ho raha tha to get all the dates together.”
