Rohit Shetty to shoot elaborate dance number with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff; Deepika Padukone may not participate: Report

Rohit Shetty's Singham Again boasts a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff with Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh also reprising their previous roles from Sooryavanshi and Simmba.  Now, Shetty is set to shoot a mega dance number featuring all of these stars. While Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff are set for the dance number, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh will also make cameo appearances. The filmmaker is filming an elaborate song at a Vile Parle set starting today, April 17.

Rohit Shetty has been filming the action sequences for the film's last leg at Golden Tobacco Factory. A separate grand set has been built for this song. The shoot was originally scheduled for April 15 but has been pushed back to today. Ganesh Acharya is choreographing the song with 400 background dancers. The main cast will film the number over the next four days. However, Deepika Padukone might not be able to participate, as the actress is currently expecting her first child.

According to a report in Mid-day, the source revealed, “Ganesh Acharya is choreographing it, and has hired 400 background dancers. The primary cast will film the vibrant number over the next four days. However, Deepika, who is among the newest entrants in the cop verse, might give it a miss.”

Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Shetty is now eyeing Diwali 2024 release date and will push from Independence Day 2024 release, making way for Pushpa 2: The Rule. "Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, and the team have been shooting day and night for Singham Again with the will to bring it during the August 15, 2024 weekend. However, the shoot is taking longer than expected as a film like Singham Again requires a lot of attention. Rohit and Ajay don't want to rush through the proceedings only to make it to a certain release date. They want the scale and vision to come out exactly as fleshed on the paper without any compromise," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Rohit and Ajay have already conveyed their idea of delaying the film to Jio Studios and the date of August 15 is now vacant. "Jio has suggested a Diwali 2024 release to Rohit and Ajay, and the duo is also considering the date. The timelines of VFX and background score are now being reworked keeping the Diwali 2024 deadline in mind. Diwali has also proved to be lucky for Ajay and Rohit combo," the source told us.

An official announcement about the new release date of Singham Again is expected to be made shortly, but at the moment, the film is 100% pushed from the already announced date of August 15, 2024. Shah Rukh Khan returns to the big screen after Dunki in 2025 with the Sujoy Ghosh-directed King, which will mark the big-screen debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film is presently in the pre-production stage and the makers are going all out to ensure that the return of SRK is celebrated like never before. We have got exclusive scoop that Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand are planning to make a raw and rustic action film, King, on a mega budget of Rs. 200 crores.

"King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone's imagination. The team has been working on the pre-production for the last one year to ensure that all aspects are covered in the right way - from script, to scale and action. Red Chillies Entertainment has always mounted world-class products and King will be no different as the banner is going all out to ensure a grand debut for Suhana Khan," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source further informed that Siddharth Anand is in talks with stunt directors from the West to come on board King. "Siddharth Anand thinks internationally, and with SRK, he wants to make a global action thriller. He is designing stunts with the stunt experts from the West, and plans to shoot it as a hybrid of real action and VFX enhancements," the source told us further.

King will be shot from May over a period of 5 months and hit the big screen in the 2nd half of 2025.

Bombay High Court denies interim relief to Sholay director Ramesh Sippy in property dispute

The Bombay High Court rejected filmmaker Ramesh Sippy's request for a court-appointed receiver in an ongoing property dispute. The dispute centres on the inheritance of assets belonging to Sippy's late parents [Ramesh Sippy v. Sunhil Sippy & Ors.].

According to a report by Bar and Bench, the Sholay director had filed an interim plea seeking the appointment of a court receiver. This receiver would have taken temporary control of a flat and 27 cinematograph films, which Sippy claimed fell intestate (without a will) upon his parents' passing.

The filmmaker further contended that Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd. and its directors were illegally utilising these assets. However, Justice Manish Pitale, presiding over the case, found insufficient evidence from Sippy to support his concerns about the defendant disposing of the flat. Additionally, the court noted that the legal heirs of Sippy's siblings, along with the company itself, had been asserting ownership rights over the 27 films for a substantial period.

The judge further stated, "Apart from this, the stand taken (by Sippy) in the present suit, appears to be different from the assertions made in the earlier proceedings initiated by Sippy. Therefore, he has failed to make out a prima facie case in his favour.”

The veteran filmmaker’s request for a court receiver stemmed from a larger lawsuit seeking a declaration of his share in his deceased parents' estate among the surviving legal heirs. He claimed to be the sole surviving child.

Filed in 2023, the lawsuit argues that the properties of his parents should be distributed between him and the legal heirs of his siblings. Sippy seeks a one-fifth share of the estate, including a flat in south Mumbai, 500 shares of Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd., and rights to 27 films produced by the company.

Advocate Shanay Shah, representing Ramesh Sippy, was briefed by Bachubhai Munim & Co. Advocates Archit Jayakar, Pooja Yadav, and Parita Mashruwala, representing the Sippy Films company and directors, were briefed by Jayakar & Partners.

The case is ongoing, and further developments are expected.

Salman Khan Gunshot Firing: Mumbai Police arrest two suspects from Gujarat’s Bhuj

The Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in the Sunday morning firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's Bandra West residence. Confirming the arrests, Mumbai Police officials revealed that the accused were apprehended late Monday night in Bhuj, Gujarat. 

"Both the accused, who fled Mumbai after the firing, have been arrested from Gujarat's Bhuj," the officials told to ANI. The accused will be brought back to Mumbai for further investigation. 

The incident, which unfolded early Sunday morning, witnessed two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants open fire outside Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan's residence. The assailants fled the scene after discharging a total of four rounds. One live cartridge was recovered from the site. 

The incident sparked immediate action from law enforcement agencies, with the Mumbai Crime Branch initiating an investigation. Preliminary investigation suggests a well-planned attack, as the suspects wore helmets to conceal their identities. Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde contacted Salman Khan and Mumbai Police Commissioner. Discussions focused on the actor's safety, and the Chief Minister recommended enhanced security measures.

Post the incident Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, took responsibility for firing outside Salman’s house. In the Facebook post, Anmol said that it was a trailer to show Salman their might and that ‘don’t consider us less. Consider this as “the last warning.”

For the unversed, Salman Khan has been under Y-Plus security cover since November 2022 due to threats received from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. He is also authorized to carry a personal firearm and has recently acquired an armored vehicle for additional protection.

SCOOP: Divya Khosla Kumar to play Vyjayanthimala in Hero Heeroine

There are intriguing real-life parallels in Suresh Krissna’s Hindi-Telugu film Hero Heeroine, which is set in the film industry. Rumor has it that Divya Khosla Kumar is playing a character inspired by the living legend Vyjayanthimala.

Rajiv Khandelwal, who last seen as a bratty superstar in Karan Johar’s series Showtime, features as a South superstar-singer, alongside Paresh Rawal. The two accomplished actors reunite after eleven years. Paresh and Rajiv were last seen together was Table No. 21.

But the most interesting comeback to screen is that of veteran Soni Razdan, who is all set to dazzle in Hero Heeroine playing a role reminiscent of Meryl Streep’s Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada.

Tusshar Kapoor for the first time, appears as himself, and Ishita Chauhan takes on the role of a chef. Arbaaz Khan and Vinay Pathak are also part of the vast cast. Noteworthy Telugu actors will also join the cast soon.

The male lead of the film is yet to be decided, with Divya Khosla Kumar playing the beautiful actress Priyadarshini.

Hero Heeroine is set in Filmistan, aka Bollywood. There is widespread speculation on how many of the characters in the film are based on real actors and filmmakers in the film industry.

Budget battles stall Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's action thriller; project to be scaled down amid budget concerns

Over the last few months, it was confirmed that Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are teaming up for the first time on an action-packed saga. The director, Aditya Dhar had even started the recce for the film with the intent to take the film on floors in Summer 2024. However, in an unusual turn of events, there is a delay in the shooting schedule of this action-packed thriller.

A source told Bollywood Hungama anonymously, "Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are very keen to make their first collaboration very special. They want to mount the film like the biggest action thriller set against the backdrop of politics and gang wars. The vision to make this requires a big budget and they are not able to align their vision with their studio partner."

The source further informed that Aditya Dhar is now taking time off to rework the script and scale down some of the action sequences to bring it into a particular budget structure. "The market is not lucrative as the digital streaming market has come down in the last 2 years. With films not fetching the requisite value of digital rights, the studios have asked a lot of directors to rework their budgets. Aditya Dhar is now working to get budgets in place," the source told us further.

There is a delay of at least 3 to 4 months on the film now and the new timelines of the shoot will be decided shortly.

Salman Khan Gunshots Firing: Suspects believed to be affiliated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi: Report

In a startling incident early Sunday morning, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai became the scene of a security breach. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fired multiple rounds outside the actor's home, triggering concern and swift action from authorities. No injuries were reported as the bullets were fired into the air. However, the gravity of the situation prompted immediate action from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who assured Khan of heightened security measures. The Mumbai Police swiftly launched an investigation into the incident, registering an FIR under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and 3(25) section of the Arms Act.

According to a report in NDTV, sources have revealed that two gunmen are reportedly affiliated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, claimed responsibility in an online post, describing the attack as a "preview" and issuing a warning to the Bollywood actor. However, the authenticity of the claim is yet to be verified independently.

One of the suspects, Vishal, is believed to have ties with Rohit Godara, a notorious member of the Bishnoi gang implicated in various violent crimes. CCTV footage revealed that the assailants wore caps and carried backpacks while firing towards Khan's residence. Descriptions of their attire include one suspect in a white t-shirt with a black jacket and denim pants, and the other in a red t-shirt with denim pants.

Prior to the attack, reports state that the suspects checked out the place near Galaxy Apartments. After abandoning their motorcycle, suspected to be stolen, near Mount Mary Church in Bandra, the assailants reportedly managed to evade capture by taking a rickshaw to Bandra railway station.
