Zeenat Aman recovers from “a horrible flu” after being “bedridden” for 10 days; shares health update

Actress Zeenat Aman has recently recovered from the horrible flu that kept her bedridden for 10 days. The actress, who is known for her active presence on social media, shared a glimpse of her behind-the-scenes work on Instagram in her latest post.

In the post, Zeenat shared multiple images from different sets that she has worked on this year. In one photo, the actress looks stunning in a black gown with slit detailing, eating something on her break. In another photo, Zeenat can be seen getting glammed up by her crew of female makeup artists and stylists.

In the caption, Zeenat wrote, "I’ve been bedridden with a horrible flu for the past 10 days, and now I have a manic week of work ahead! But before I dive into it, here’s a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes."

"My glam team takes me from aunty to Amazon; I do my homework; I hold my poses; I check Instagram; I drink lots of coffee; and I count the minutes until I can get back into my kaftan! On another note, the majority of my directors and DOPs this year have been women. And I’m still not over the joy of having so many phenomenal women running set. Take a bow, ladies. You do me proud," she added.

Zeenat Aman started her career as a model in the 70s and soon made her transition to films. She rose to fame with her roles in films like Hare Rama Hare Krishna and Yaadon Ki Baarat. Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, and Amit Jain begin shooting for Shark Tank India season 3

Kareena Kapoor Khan to join Ajay Devgn on the sets of Singham Again today: Report

Following the release of Jaane Jaan and making her streaming debut, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to begin the shoot for Singham Again. Reuniting with Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, this marks her third collaboration with them. It is being reported that the actress will be starting the shoot on Saturday, September 23.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Kareena teams up with Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn again for the third part of the Singham franchise, and she will join the sets tomorrow (September 23). It's yet unclear whether she will reprise her role of Avni Kamat from the previous part or play an entirely new character, but she will shoot for some romantic and talkie portions with Ajay in this schedule. Kareena shares a familial bond with Ajay and is very excited to get back on set with him again after a nine-year hiatus.”

A few days ago, Ajay Devgn kicked off the shoot with Ranveer Singh, who reprises the role of Simmba. While Akshay Kumar’s character Sooryavanshi was missing, he is expected to join the shoot soon. Deepika Padukone will be a part of the universe followed by which she will have her standalone movie.

Zeenat Aman to pay an ode to Don; to present an EXCLUSIVE one-night-only live event

To mark 45 years of the celebrated action thriller film directed by Chandra Barot, Don that released on 12th May 1978, the famed leading lady of the 1970s and ‘80s. Zeenat Aman has joined hands with not-for-profit organization, Film Heritage Foundation to present an exclusive one-night-only live event in Mumbai. Titled ‘Zeenat Aman Rewind To Don’, the event will be hosted on September 29 at the 1000-seater majestic Regal Cinema in Colaba.

The presentation will feature not just a 3-hour screening of the restored version of the original landmark film Don but will also witness the film’s lead female protagonist Zeenat Aman engage in an evening of conversation about her life and career with filmmaker and director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, over a 30-minute moderated session.

Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, Filmmaker and Director of, the Film Heritage Foundation states, “It is my honour and a dream come true to present a special screening of Don in conversation with the one and only Zeenat Aman. When we screened Don at the Bachchan Back to the Beginning festival last year, the audience fell in love with “Roma” all over again. Her tremendous charisma and her aura of grace and sensuality are timeless and it is no wonder that she continues to be a star today. I am looking forward to my conversation with her that will give the audience a rare opportunity to listen to a diva walk down memory lane and to watch the original Don with the original Roma on the big screen.”

Zeenat Aman states, “Film Heritage Foundation is doing such incredible work to preserve and give our classic films a second life in cinemas. I am so happy to be presenting the special screening of Don with Shivendra Singh Dungarpur of the Film Heritage Foundation and looking forward to our conversation. Unfortunately, I missed watching the film at the Bachchan Back to the Beginning Festival last year, but I am excited that it is being presented at a special screening and I can’t wait to watch it back on the big screen on September 29th. I know that even 45 years after its release, the original Don is still a blockbuster.”

Last year, the Film Heritage Foundation was instrumental in curating a nationwide four-day film festival titled ‘Bachchan Back To The Beginning’ on the occasion of the legendary actor’s 80th birthday that featured screenings of restored versions of more than 10 of his landmark films including Don.

Canada-India deadlock to affect two Diljit Dosanjh starrers?

Now that India’s war against separatism has reached Canada, the repercussions are likely to be far reaching. The cancellation of Canadian rapper Shubh’s India concert was described by a well-placed source in the Indian administrative service as the “tip of the iceberg”.

Cultural events and content of films pertaining to Punjab and the Sikh community are likely to be scrutinized even more closely.

Diljit Dosanjh finds himself in more than one controversial film. Honey Trehan’s Ghallughara, the bio-pic on human-rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, and Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila, based on the life of singer Amar Singh Chamkila who was slain at the age of 28, both featuring Dosanjh in the lead, are likely to undergo an even more rigorous scrutiny than they already have, and may not make it to the screen at all.

Trehan’s Ghallughara is the third film based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots featuring Diljit in the lead. Diljit did a moving film on the 1984 riots titled 1984. It was directed by Anurag Singh. Diljit is really proud of 1984.

While Diljit’s 1984 was set in rural Punjab, Jogi with Diljit in the title role, released on Netflix in September 2022. It was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and was set in Delhi in the midst of the 1984 riots.

Although Netflix has the rights to stream Chamkila, hence technically exempted from censorship, the prominent streaming platform is likely to abstain from outing the film in the near future.

While announcing his participation in Chamkila, Diljit Dosanjh had said, “Playing Amar Singh Chamkila has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life, and I am thrilled to be returning to Netflix with yet another exciting story. It has been a pleasure to work with Parineeti Chopra and the entire team that has worked extremely hard to bring this beautiful story to life. To be able to sing to (A R) Rahman sir’s exemplary music was a meditative experience and I hope I have been able to do justice to his vision. Thank you Imtiaz bhajee for believing in me for this role.”

A source close to the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) said that the issue of cinema on Punjab is no more a censorial concern. “It is now seen as a matter of national security,” said the source.

For his upcoming project, the producer has roped in two of the biggest action stars from two different generations, Sanjay Dutt and Tiger Shroff. The title of the comedy action musical is Master Blaster & is in the advanced pre-production stage and will go on floors soon.

The film will be extensively shot in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China with action & technical crew from Los Angeles and China. Several new technical innovations will be introduced in the film for the first time in cinema history. Producer Firoz Nadiadwallah’s relation with the Shaolin temple goes back more than 20 years, owing to which the stars in the movie will be undergoing rigorous & extensive training in advanced forms of Martial Arts, hand combat & ancient weaponry under personal training and supervision of senior Shaolin monks.
