Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and others to be invited by Aamir Khan for the grand reception of daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare

The Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare wedding has been one of the most talked about weddings in B-town currently. After registering their marriage in suburban Mumbai, the couple is expected to take off to Rajasthan to host a lavish wedding as per Indian traditions and followed by that, they will also be holding two receptions. We hear that considering the amazing camaraderie Aamir Khan shares with his colleagues, a host of celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will be invited for the wedding.

Among the names of biggies in the guestlists, it is being said that Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowarikar and co-star Juhi Chawla, among others are being invited. As per a news report in India Today, the said reception will be held on January 13 at BKC Jio Centre, after their destination wedding in Udaipur on January 8. It has also been learnt that the Ambani family and a few celebrities from South film industry are also a part of the invitee’s list.

Speaking of the Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare wedding, the couple exchanged vows and registered their marriage at a private ceremony in Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Ira is the daughter of Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Reena Dutta and the actor, and the estranged couple also has a son Junaid Khan, who is gearing up for his acting debut. Ira is a social activist who champions for mental health whereas Nupur Shikhare is a fitness coach who also works with Bollywood celebrities. Apart from these two kids, Aamir Khan also has a son named Azad with former wife Kiran Rao via surrogacy. The duo were also an integral part of this wedding and are expected to join the celebrations in Rajasthan too.

Rajkumar Hirani to venture into OTT space with Vikrant Massey-led series on Disney+ Hotstar

Actor Vikrant Massey, triumphing in 12th Fail, ventures into Disney+ Hotstar's next project, helmed by renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. Following his recent Dunki release, Hirani takes on the role of showrunner for his streaming debut. While not in the director's chair, his creative influence promises a distinctive touch to the upcoming venture. This collaboration signifies a compelling blend of Massey's rising star power and Hirani's seasoned storytelling prowess.

Speaking to PTI, Rajkumar Hirani recently revealed, “I’m doing an OTT show, which we actually start shooting this month. I’m a showrunner for that, I’m not directing it. It’s a show for Hotstar (Disney+ Hotstar) and Vikrant Massey is playing a role in it. It’s something I’m very happy about with the script and the way it has panned out. On this show, I’m really involved and it’s in my own space.”

Meanwhile, Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani among others has collected Rs. 190.52 crores at the box office in India.

Sidharth Malhotra in talks for two projects with directors Meghna Gulzar and Jeethu Joseph: Report

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra is kicking off 2024 with Rohit Shetty’s first web series Indian Police Force. The actor also makes his streaming debut with this upcoming series. However, Sidharth Malhotra is already in talks for two projects with the production house Junglee Pictures. These projects are reportedly being directed by Meghna Gulzar and Drishyam’s Jeethu Joseph.

According to a report in Peeping Moon, a source revealed, “Sidharth and Junglee Pictures have been talking about collaborating for the past few months and are mainly discussing two movies — one directed by Meghna Gulzar and the other by Jeethu Joseph, acclaimed for his blockbuster Malayalam movie franchise, Drishyam. Sid, however, hasn’t signed them yet, as it’s still in the conversation stage. Depending on how the talks go, he might decide to do one of them or ultimately agree to both.”

Like always, Meghna Gulzar’s project is based on a true story. Meanwhile, Jeethu Joseph’s project is about a “valiant, sharp, and quick-witted law enforcement officer who embarks on a journey to fight for truth and bring justice in a high-stakes case at the international level.” Both projects are eyeing the 2024 production stage.

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra has Yodha as his next theatrical release. It is set for an April 2024 release. Apart from this and his web series, he has reportedly signed Dinesh Vijan’s Spider alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The action thriller will be directed by Dasvi fame Tushar Jalota. Sanya Malhotra starrer Mrs and Jio Studios' Sumo Didi to screen at 35th Palm Springs International Film Festival

Continuing their successful streak at film festivals, Jio Studios’ films Mrs. and Sumo Didi are set to enthrall audiences once again on a global stage. Embracing powerful female narratives, both films portray tales of determination and resilience in the face of adversity and have been selected for screenings at the prestigious 35th Palm Springs International Film Festival being held in California.

The screening of the upcoming Hindi film Sumo Didi in association with Fresh Lime Films and MA + TH will be held on 7th January. Inspired by the story of India’s first Sumo wrestler Hetal Dave, it stars Shriyam Bhagnani in the lead along with Chaitnya Sharma (Slow Cheeta) and is directed by debutant Jayant Rohatgi.

Sharing his excitement, director Jayant Rohatgi says, “Sumo Didi is a story of grit and rising from the depths of despair and I am thrilled that after Tokyo, people in North America will get to watch it at the prestigious Palm Springs International Film Festival. I hope the character’s journey resonates with them and we are able to convey that every human being is unique and has unlimited potential waiting to explode. What drew me to Hetal’s story was her tenacity in breaking through stereotypes, social prejudices, patriarchal mindsets, lack of opportunities, yet have that relentless focus and determination to make a seemingly impossible dream come true.”

Presented by Jio Studios, and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Akash Chawla, Amit Chandrra, and Arunava Sengupta, Sumo Didi is directed by Jayant Rohatgi and stars Shriyam Bhagnani in the lead role.

Jio Studios and Baweja Studios’ Hindi film Mrs. too will have its screening at the festival on 10th January. Another captivating account of a woman’s strength and resilience, the film stars Sanya Malhotra in the lead role along with Nishant Dahiya and Kanwaljit Singh in key supporting roles.

Sanya Malhotra says, “I am absolutely thrilled to share that our film Mrs. will have its premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2024, in California. Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma are NOT doing a sequel to Wake Up Sid

Relax, there is no sequel to Wake Up Sid. As Anupam Kher, who was brilliant as Ranbir Kapoor’s father in Ayan Mukerji’s best work so far said, “Bhai, sequel ban rahi hai aur mujhe pataa tak nahin?!”

Rest assured, Anupam, there is no sequel to Wake Up Sid. It is true that Ranbir and Konkona Sen Sharma are getting together again, and playing the characters they played in Mukerji’s movie. But it is for an ad, not a film.

To go back to Ranbir’s best work after Saawariya, Wake Up Sid is a triumph on many levels. It takes the protagonist’s predictable but yet kinetic voyage into self-realization to a level where the languorous plot exudes a beam of light that cuts right across the radiant narrative. The film is shot in a warm and sunny speckled ambience filled with fleeting glimpses into hearts that are forever on a run. The moments to retrospect are snatched from the bustle of metropolitan life.

Would this wonderfully uncrowded film have worked without Ranbir Kapoor? Ranbir’s Sid is a near-perfect portrait of the aimless young man searching for a direction in life. Ranbir handles the character’s inner life with the effortlessness of a Sitar maestro twiddling with his instrument’s strings to create a music that takes the audience to a world where the sounds suggest a harmony between art and life.

Koffee With Karan 8: Janhvi Kapoor recalls the heartbreaking moment when she learnt about Sridevi's death: “I could hear wailing from Khushi’s room”

In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor made their appearance together. While this was Janhvi's third time on the show, The Archies debutante made her first appearance. As they spoke about their lives and careers, they also recalled the time when they heard about their mother Sridevi's death.

Recalling the moment when she learnt about her mother's death, Janhvi said, “When I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi's room. I think I barged into her room, howling and crying but what I do remember is she looked at me and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me and I've never seen her cry about it since.”

Khushi Kapoor shared, “I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I've always been the strong one.”

In the same episode, Janhvi also spoke about how Khushi is more similar to Sridevi, “She is a very quiet person and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes,” she said.

Sridevi died in 2018 in Dubai, where she was attending Boney Kapoor's nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. It was announced that the cause of her death was accidental drowning.
