Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan to share screen in Sujoy Ghosh's thriller: Report

Suhana Khan, the daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is all set to make her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming Netflix film, The Archies. However, it seems that her foray into acting won't be limited to the small screen alone. Recent reports suggest that Suhana is poised to make her theatrical debut alongside her father, SRK. Earlier, it was revealed that renowned filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is set to direct a new project featuring both Suhana and SRK. Now, exclusive details about the project have emerged, adding even more anticipation to this exciting venture.

Contrary to earlier reports, Shah Rukh Khan's role in the film will not be a mere cameo; instead, it will be an extended and significant one, reminiscent of his character in Dear Zindagi. A reliable source informed IndiaToday.in, “SRK is not making a cameo in Sujoy Ghosh’s next. In fact, his role will be a pivotal one, which helps Suhana’s character in the movie.”

“Sujoy’s film will be a spy thriller with Suhana taking on the lead role as a spy. Every spy needs a handler and guess who Suhana’s handler will be in the movie? It is none other than Shah Rukh Khan!” as per the sources. The pre-production work for the movie is already underway, fuelling excitement among fans.

Interestingly, Ghosh and Shah Rukh Khan have previously collaborated on the production front for Badla, a critically acclaimed film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. This upcoming film will mark a collaboration between director Siddharth Anand's Marflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies as well, promising an exciting synergy of talent and creativity.

While Suhana Khan eagerly anticipates the release of The Archies, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of Jawan, scheduled to hit theatres on September 7, 2023. REVEALED: CBFC removes derogatory mention of Rakesh Roshan from Hindi version of Rajinikanth’s Jailer

The month of August was a great one for the industry thanks to the performance of films like Gadar 2, OMG 2, Jailer, Dream Girl 2 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The Hindi version of Jailer didn’t get adequate shows due to the release of too many films. But it managed to trend quite well, surprising trade and industry since all the dubbed Hindi versions of South films that were released earlier in 2023 had flopped. But this Tamil blockbuster was an exception as it found takers in Hindi.

Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that the Hindi version of the Rajinikanth starrer suffered a few cuts. As per the cut list, three modifications were requested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The visuals of the beheaded body were reduced and replaced with suitable shots. Similarly, the visuals of Muthu (Rajinikanth) holding a sliced ear were modified.

And that’s not all. The CBFC’s examining committee also asked for an audio cut. It asked the makers to remove the mention of blockbuster filmmaker Rakesh Roshan as ‘the name was used in a derogatory context’.

Once these changes were carried out, the Hindi version of Jailer was given a censor certificate on August 8. The film was passed with a U/A rating with the final run time of 165 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Hindi version of Jailer, like the original version, was released in cinemas on August 10.

The Tamil version of Jailer suffered more cuts. It went through 11 modifications, most of which were of violent and gory visuals being modified or removed. In a rare instance, the CBFC asked for the blood splash level in a few scenes to be reduced. A few changes in the dialogues were also carried out after which the censor certificate was granted on July 27, 2023.

Rakesh Roshan was recently in the news when his much-loved sci-fi classic, Koi Mil Gaya (2003), starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, completed 20 years on August 8. Then last week, when Chandryaan-3 mission was successful, the West Bengal Chief Minister mistakenly referred to Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma as Rakesh Roshan. The video clip went viral in no time.

YRF launches the first poster of Tiger 3; reveals it’s a follow up of Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan

Aditya Chopra is building the YRF Spy Universe brick by brick and his next offering is Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif which is slated for release this Diwali. On September 2, YRF launched the first poster of this action entertainer, and it promises to be an insane, jaw-dropping action spectacle as two super-spies Tiger and Zoya take on their most deadly mission yet. Furthermore, the poster also makes a reference to the rest of the films in the spy universe including Tiger Zinda Hai as well as the Hrithik Roshan starrer War and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan.

Tiger aka Salman Khan is the OG of the YRF Spy Universe as Ek Tha Tiger (2012) silently put the plan in motion to create slick super-spies that Indian cinema has never seen before. It was Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai’s (2017) success that cemented Aditya Chopra’s belief that he could incorporate two more larger-than-life agents Kabir aka Hrithik Roshan in War and Pathaan aka Shah Rukh Khan into his ambitious plans. It was in Pathaan that Aditya Chopra officially revealed that he was building the YRF Spy Universe, which is now the biggest IP in Indian cinema. The crossover of characters from this ambitious spy universe also started with Pathaan, which saw a union of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in an adrenaline pumping action sequence that celebrated the superstardom of these two cinematic icons.

YRF has officially revealed in the first poster of Tiger 3 that the plot of this film, the fifth from the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe, will follow the events of Tiger Zinda Hai, War & Pathaan. It signals YRF’s intent to tell audiences and fans that every film featuring these super-spies will be interconnected. Tiger 3 has been directed by Maneesh Sharma and it is also expected to star Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist.

After Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan trailer releases, Sameer Wankhede drops cryptic note: “I fear no hell from you”

Former NCB Chief Sameer Wankhede has broken his silence in a cryptic and somewhat defiant manner, following speculations that a dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, Jawan, was aimed at him.

The controversial officer took to social media to share a quote by Nicole Lyons that read, "I have licked the fire and danced in the ashes of every bridge I ever burned. I fear no hell from you."

This enigmatic post comes just a day after the release of the Jawan trailer, which featured Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, portraying a father and son. While the trailer showcased Khan's versatility in various looks, it was one particular line that garnered widespread attention: "Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar" (Talk to the father before you touch the son).

Netizens quickly connected the dots, interpreting the dialogue as a veiled reference to the tumultuous Aryan Khan and Cordelia cruise drug bust case, which had Sameer Wankhede at its epicentre. Wankhede, the former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, found himself embroiled in the controversy, eventually becoming one of the main accused in the Aryan Khan bribery case.

The cryptic post shared by Sameer Wankhede on X (formerly Twitter) has left people speculating whether it is his way of responding to the insinuations made by Shah Rukh Khan's film. The entire episode has further fuelled the ongoing debate surrounding the Aryan Khan case, raising questions about the intricacies of the legal proceedings and the individuals involved.

Manish Malhotra launches his banner ‘Stage 5 Production’; Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karan Johar and others send best wishes

Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra has turned producer with his new production house, Stage 5. The announcement was made by Manish on Instagram, where he shared the company's logo and wrote a heartfelt message about his love for clothes, colours, and films.

"Ever since my childhood there’s a certain calling I've had for Clothes, Colours and Films," Manish wrote. "I was fascinated by fabrics, textures, and music and watched every film wide eyed longing to be a part of Indian Cinema one day."

With Stage 5, Manish said he wants to "nurture different artistic voices from all over and take pride in the diversity of stories." He also said he wants to collaborate with "directors, writers, and artists who are not only talented but also have a unique new vision."

Best wishes have already started pouring in for Manish from the film and fashion industry. Aamir Khan in talks with Paatal Lok director Avinash Arun for Ujjwal Nikam biopic: Report

Earlier this week, Bollywood Hungama reported that superstar Aamir Khan has locked his next project! The actor will return to the big screen during Christmas 2024. The untitled project is set for December 20, 2024 release and he is reportedly co-producing the project with Sony Pictures. However, after Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir has been working on several productions under his banner and one of them is Ujjwal Nikam biopic.

The actor is joining hands with Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films for the project. Now, it is being reported that the actor is in talks to get National Award-Winning Marathi film, Killa and Paatal Lok director Avinash Arun for the project as the director. As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source said, “Avinash is working closely with Aamir and Dinesh Vijan to develop the screenplay of the Ujjwal Nikam Biopic. All the stakeholders are happy with the right energies associated with the project and are keen to take the film on floors next year.”

The casting is underway, though Aamir Khan also is keenly interested in playing the role himself. The source added, “It’s still not confirmed if Aamir will act in the film himself or if he will get another person on board. There are all sorts of conversations happening, and the team is also figuring out the permutation combinations with regard to the casting. He might just surprise everyone by acting in the film, or may just be associated as a producer.”

For unversed, Ujjwal Nikam is an Indian special public prosecutor who has been a part of several cases including murder and terrorism. He was a part of the team who helped prosecute the suspects of Gulshan Kumar murder case, 1993 bombings, Pramod Mahajan murder case, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Nikam was also the special public prosecutor in the 2013 Mumbai gang rape case, 2016 Kopardi rape and murder case. For the Mumbai 26/11 attacks trial, the prosecutor argued on behalf of the state. The prosecutor has Z+ security for himself which is the second highest security detail in India.

As of now, Aamir Khan will produce a Hindi remake of the Spanish movie Campeones. He is reportedly also producing Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey Remake, Pritam Pyaare, Lapata Ladies and Love Today. While Campeons titled Champions, will be headlined by Farhan Akhtar, it is unclear whether Aamir is starring in any of the above projects.
