Gol Maal and Namak Halaal actor Harish Magon passes away at 76

The Indian film industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Harish Magon, who breathed his last on June 1. Best known for his remarkable performances in iconic Hindi films such as Gol Maal, Namak Halaal, and Inkaar, Magon's demise has left a void in the hearts of fans.

The Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) broke the unfortunate news via their official Twitter account, expressing their condolences. The heartfelt post read, "CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Harish Magon (Member since JUNE. 1988)." The news spread rapidly across social media platforms, with fans pouring in their messages of grief and remembrance.

Harish Magon was a graduate of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). He was an immensely talented actor who showcased his versatility in a wide range of roles. Magon's acting prowess was evident in his memorable performances in movies like Chupke Chupke, Khushboo, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, and Shahenshah. 

Apart from his acting career, Harish Magon was known for his contributions as an educator in the field of acting. He founded the Harish Magon Acting Institute in Mumbai's Juhu area, where he nurtured aspiring actors and shared his knowledge and experience with them. 

Harish Magon's last on-screen appearance was in the 1997 romantic drama Uff! Yeh Mohabbat, where he captivated audiences with his nuanced portrayal. The news of Harish Magon's demise comes as a shock to the film industry.

Sonam Kapoor and Natalie Portman invited by Dior for Autumn-Winter 2023-2024 show in Paris

Sonam Kapoor is a fashion icon. Sonam, who has a very close relationship with the iconic luxury design house Dior, founded by the legendary fashion designer Christian Dior, has been invited to its Autumn-Winter show at the Paris Fashion Week! Sonam has been invited along with the Academy Award winner Natalie Portman to grace the event.

Sonam, known for her extraordinary and iconic fashion statements in India and at global events, is the only Indian actor to have been invited to this prestigious moment. Sonam will be witnessing Dior showcasing their autumn-winter 2023-2024 haute couture collection at the fashion week.

Sonam, who last attended the Paris Fashion Week as a showstopper for Ralph and Russo, will be joining the who’s who of the fashion world for the luxurious Christian Dior event. Interestingly, Sonam had also graced Dior’s first fashion show in India since 1962, held in March 2023 at the historic Gateway of India in Mumbai.

SCOOP: Priyanka Chopra walks out of Jee Le Zara; picks Citadel 2 over the Katrina Kaif-Alia Bhatt film

After all the wait over the years, the Farhan Akhtar-directed Jee Le Zara was finally ready to go on floors with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. When everything was running smoothly on the prep front, Farhan Akhtar came across a scenario that he never imagined. His leading lady, Priyanka Chopra, out of the blue decided to walk out of the film.

According to sources close to the development, following the digital success of Citadel, despite not-so-good reviews, Amazon Prime decided to renew the series for a second season. "Priyanka had to make a choice between Citadel 2 and Jee Le Zara as both the projects were expected to be shot in the same time frame. After contemplating all aspects, she picked Citadel 2.0 over Jee Le Zara," revealed a source close to the development to Bollywood Hungama.

The actress will now get into the prep mode of Citadel 2 and take the series on floors later this year for a late 2024 premiere on the digital world. So what happens to Jee Le Zara? "Well, it's indefinitely put on hold for now" the source further revealed.

Farhan is meanwhile focusing on his acting commitment with Champions and will soon follow it up with his directorial, Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh.

Nana Patekar does voiceover for Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel return as Tara Singh and Sakeena in Gadar 2 after their 2001 movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The movie is scheduled for the August release. Now, it has been learnt that veteran actor Nana Patekar has done voiceover for the film. Originally, in the first installment, Om Puri had done voiceover for the introductory scenes. Now, Nana Patekar’s voiceover will be heard in the film at the very start of the movie.

 Helmed by Anil Sharma Gadar 2 hints that the story begins right from where the story ended in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The first installment was based on the love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena, which left an everlasting impact on the hearts of the audiences and still continues to do so.

The song ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ was re-released as a reprised version. The film will also have ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ recreation as well which will also arrive soon.

Helmed by Director-Producer Anil Sharma, and produced by Zee Studios, the movie stars Superstar Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna to kick off Anees Bazmee's next in Mumbai in August

Shahid Kapoor is all set to commence his next project soon. Following the releases of Farzi and Bloody Daddy, the actor will now work with Anees Bazmee for an action comedy. Rashmika Mandanna also stars in the movie. The plan is to kick off the shoot in August 2023. The film will reportedly see the actor in a double role.

In May 2023, Bollywood Hungama had revealed that Shahid Kapoor allotted his dates to Anees Bazmee and will soon commence shooting for this action comedy. According to our sources close to the development, Shahid Kapoor will start shooting for Anees Bazmee's comedy on August 1. "Shahid Kapoor is very excited to do an out-and-out comedy after a long time and will commence his work on the film from August 1. He has allotted bulk dates to Anees Bazmee from August to December as the team is planning a start-to-finish schedule," revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

"Apart from Shahid and Rashmika, a big ensemble cast will be a part of Anees Bazmee's comedy and an announcement shall be made soon. The movie will be released next year and the title will be revealed by July," the trade source told us further.

Now, turns out, the shoot will commence in Mumbai and will be shot on a set with Rajasthani Haveli backdrop. As per a report in Mid-Day, a trade source said, "Anees and his technical team, including DoP Manu Anand and production designer Rajat Poddarr, scouted for locations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan before finalising the desert state. In the first schedule that rolls in Mumbai, the leads will shoot indoor scenes, with the set depicting the interiors of a Rajasthani haveli."

The three-week schedule will come to an end with a 15-day break in Mumbai following which they will head to Rajasthan for the shoot schedule. The source further revealed, “Anees wants to do a start-to-finish schedule in the state from mid-September and complete a chunk of the film by October. Then comes the movie’s most crucial schedule in Mumbai, which will involve a lot of action. If things go as planned, the project will be wrapped up by the year-end.”

Apart from Dil Raju, the movie also has Ekta Kapoor as one of the producers and more details will be unveiled soon. Allu Arjun signs his next Pan-India film after Pushpa 2 The Rule with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo director Trivikram; official announcement expected this week

Bollywood Hungama yesterday reported that Allu Arjun is not keen to sign The Immortal Ashwatthama. The reactions generated by Adipurush have made him wary since Aditya Dhar’s ambitious project is also VFX-heavy, as per sources.

Bollywood Hungama today brings yet another update regarding the superstar. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Allu Arjun has signed his next film after Pushpa 2 – The Rule. It’s directed by Trivikram. The actor and director have collaborated on successful films in the past like Julayi (2012), S/O Satyamurthy (2015) and the blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020). Nothing much is known about the plot but it’s guaranteed to be a complete mass entertainer.”

The source added, “An official announcement will take place very soon, in a few days.”

The source further said, “Needless to say, Allu Arjun’s next with Trivikram will be a Pan-India film and will be released in Hindi as well along with other languages and in the original Telugu version. Allu is now one of the biggest stars of India. Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01 (2021) has made him extremely popular. Moreover, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has been widely consumed in the Hindi-speaking markets. The audience will surely be excited knowing that the actor-director duo is returning for a film. It will surely be one of the most anticipated releases.”

The film, however, will take time to be made. The source said, “Allu Arjun is currently busy with Pushpa 2 – The Rule, which will release in 2024 and is also expected to set the box office on fire. Trivikram, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu. Once both are done with their respective projects, they are expected to take their film on floors.”

Besides Pushpa 2 – The Rule and Trivikram’s untitled entertainer, Allu Arjun has another film in his pipeline – Arjun Reddy (2017), Kabir Singh (2019) and Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s next. It’ll be produced by T-Series. The announcement was made in March 2023.
