Hrithik Roshan to sport three different looks in Vikram Vedha to showcase backstory of Vedha

Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha are all set to release worldwide on September 30, 2022. The teaser of the film gave viewers a glimpse of the characters of Vikram & Vedha while introducing the audience to the intriguing story. Vikram Vedha's teaser received a thunderous response from the audience. While the teaser gave a sneak peek into Hrithik Roshan & Saif Ali Khan's looks and onscreen characters, the trailer of the film is touted to be an action-packed thrill ride, notches above the teaser.

News is that Hrithik will be seen in 3 different looks as Vedha. Vikram Vedha also marks to be a career milestone for Hrithik Roshan as the film stands to be his 25th Film. Sources share, "As an actor, Hrithik has always dared to adapt to his onscreen characters. From looking at the part to imbibing the mannerisms, right from his debut film Kaho Naa...Pyar hai to his last releases Super 30 & War, whenever Hrithik does a film, he makes it a point to transform and surprise."

Further adding, "Vikram Vedha will showcase the journey and backstory of Vedha. For this, Hrithik will be seen sporting 3 different looks in the film. The trailer opens up the world of Vikram Vedha a lot more, where the audience can witness Vedha in his full glory."

Vikram Vedha is an action-thriller written & directed by Pushkar-Gayatri. The story is full of twists and turns, as a tough cop Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) sets out to track and chase a dreaded gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan). What unfolds is a cat-and-mouse chase, where Vedha - a master storyteller helps Vikram peel back layers through a series of stories leading to thought-provoking moral ambiguities.

Vikram Vedha is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks & Jio Studios and a YNOT Studios Production. The film is directed by Pushkar & Gayatri and produced by Bhushan Kumar & S. Sashikanth and Reliance Entertainment. Vikram Vedha will hit the big screens globally on 30th September 2022.

Amitabh Bachchan shares a childhood incident on KBC 14; recalls being beaten up by mom Teji Bachchan

Apart from keeping the audience on the edge of the seat on his quiz show, mega star Amitabh Bachchan often shares some lesser-known incidents of his life on the set of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Going down the memory lane with a KBC contestant, Amitabh recalled how his mother, Teji Bachchan, caught him listening to cricket commentary.

It all started when the contestant, Saurabh Shekhar, narrated that he would get beaten up by his father after trying to step out to watch a match. Upon this, Bachchan quickly shared that he is sailing on the same boat. The veteran actor said, “Once I was trying to hear a match on radio by going under a blanket and my mother caught me and I got beaten up.”

On the other, in another segment of the upcoming episode, the 79-year-old actor also talked about cropping his pictures “carefully” before posting them on his social media platforms. He asserted, “people will ask what is the glass doing behind? Where are you sitting? So I carefully crop my face and only post it so that people don’t comment.”

Meanwhile, the Kaun Banega Crorepati host also asked the contestant to share his experience of the “Play Along” section of the show. In response, Saurabh revealed he had earned some lakhs while playing KBC online during the pandemic.

Currently, Sony Entertainment is premiering the 14th season of the show with Big B. Along with contestants, actor Amir Khan, sports icons Mary Kom and Sunil Chhetri, and India's first Blade Runner, Major DP Singh, among others, have also graced the show.

Kacchey Limbu starring Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival 2022

Debutant director Shubham Yogi's heart-warming coming-of-age sibling drama Kacchey Limbu starring Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha and introducing Ayush Mehra will have a world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF2022).

Kacchey Limbu is a heartwarming sibling drama that tells the story of Aditi, a wilful young girl who is in the race of fulfilling dreams imposed on her by everyone and being at the receiving end each time. A story of courage, determination and discovering herself, Kacchey Limbu is an emotional rollercoaster in which she decides to take matters into her own hands to prove to her family, friends and especially her elder brother that being confused is not necessarily a bad thing. With time, the right decision will find its way to you.

Shubham Yogi, Director, Kacchey Limbu, "I am very excited to embark on my journey as a filmmaker with Kacchey Limbu, a coming-of-age sibling drama. The film is primarily a story of two young, middle-class siblings who have to navigate their family’s conditioning to find their own unique voice. Kacchey Limbu is everyone's story, and I believe that a story worth telling will always find a way to be told. I was fortunate to find producers - my prime collaborators, Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya (Mango People Media) and Jio Studios who believed in the story from the get-go and batted for the film on the front foot. Olivia Wilde was forced to cut oral sex scenes from Don’t Worry Darling trailer starring Harry Styles & Florence Pugh - “I was upset about that”

Fans went into frenzy over the steamy sex scenes featured in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh.

As Variety notes, it turns out there would’ve been even more provocative scenes in the steamy trailer had the director gotten her way. The filmmaker told the Associated Press that the MPA ratings board “came down hard” on the original cut of the trailer and forced her to remove additional scenes that were deemed too risqué. “There’s a lot that had to be taken out of the trailer,” Wilde said when asked by the AP about including a “sex act” in the trailer. “The MPA came down hard on me and the trailer at the last second and I had to cut some shots, which I was upset about because I thought they it took it up another notch. But of course, we still live in a really puritanical society.”

She added, “I do think the lack of eroticism in American film is kind of new. Then when it comes to female pleasure, it’s something that we just don’t see very often unless you’re talking about queer cinema.” Wilde shared similar thoughts in her Variety cover story, saying, “Female pleasure, the best versions of it that you see nowadays, are in queer films.”

“Why are we more comfortable with female pleasure when it’s two women on film? In hetero sex scenes in film, the focus on men as the recipients of pleasure is almost ubiquitous,” she said. Wilde said in her AP interview that “people are upset with me already over this,” referencing the film’s oral sex scene. “I think it’s a testament to the film. We want to be provocative. The idea is not to make you feel safe.”

Previously, the film’s lead star, Pugh, also discussed the oral scene and expressed her frustration over the reception to the movie’s trailer. “When it’s reduced to your sex scenes, or to watch the most famous man in the world go down on someone, it’s not why we do it. It’s not why I’m in this industry,” Pugh said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “Obviously, the nature of hiring the most famous pop star in the world, you’re going to have conversations like that. That’s just not what I’m going to be discussing because [this movie is] bigger and better than that. And the people who made it are bigger and better than that.”

Don’t Worry Darling debuts at the Venice Film Festival on September 5 and hits theaters on September 23.

Karan Johar: “I have made a living selling guilty pleasure” on producing Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives

The second season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives featuring Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Kiran Sajdeh, and Maheep Kapoor, is going to release on September 2, 2022, on Netflix. Ahead of its release, the OTT platform hosted a launch brunch, where the star cast and the producer of the show Karan Johar candidly spoke about the success of season 1 and their expectation from season 2.

Interestingly, the host of the event Neha Dhupia asked Maheep Kapoor to share her opinion on the fact that the Netflix show has been titled a “guilty pleasure”. While Maheep asserted that she knew the show would do well, producer Karan Johar agreed that the show “Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives is a guilty pleasure.” He further added, “I have made a living selling guilty pleasures”.

As the conversation went on, Neha asked the wives about their kids’ reaction to the success of season 1. Speaking on the same, Maheep thoughtfully responded saying, “Honestly, they were quite excited, and they were like well done. Now they know what their moms are all about”.

For the unversed, the first season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives was released back in 2020. Though it received a mixed response from the audience, it was an instant hit. The eight-episode series followed the personal and professional lives of Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Kiran Sajdeh, and Maheep Kapoor.

Rapper-singer Badshah, and a few Bollywood actors, including Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff will also be seen in the series. Directed by Uttam Domale, the trailer also catches a glimpse of Gauri Khan.

Amid security concerns, BTS change the venue for global concert for World Expo 2030 bid; to now hold the show at Asiad Main Stadium on October 15

Pop titans BTS recently announced the venue and date for the Global Busan Concert, WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS in BUSAN. BTS in Busan is being hosted to support the bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan Metropolitan City. Previously, the concert was supposed to take place at Busan Ilgwang special stage in Gijang-gun, Busan on October 15. Now, the venue has been changed following a thorough check on the safety concerns. It will be now held at Asiad Main Stadium.

As per the official statement released by BIGHIT Music, "We are informing you that the venue for the WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN has been changed.
The venue for the main concert has been changed from Ilgwang Special Stage as previously announced and the concert will now be held at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. In July, BTS was appointed as the honorary ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo because they understand the importance of the World Expo and share the same values."

The statement continued, "As a first step to aid BTS's support of the bid for Busan in 2030, we planned a massive, festival-like global concert for audiences across the world. We made the global concert free for all so that not only fans of BTS but everyone around the world could enjoy the festival-like experience together. Our goal was to contribute to Busan's bid for the World Expo by promoting the culture of both the global city of Busan and Korea as a whole through a large-scale concert with next-level production. After careful review of many places in Busan and how suitable they were for that plan, we originally elected to hold the concert in Ilgwang. Based on cooperation with organizations including Busan City, police, the fire department, and the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail), we carefully moved ahead with organizing the event so that the audience would be able to have the most convenient experience possible."

It further read, "Our decision to change the location of the concert was made in an effort to ensure that the focus remains on the performance's main purpose, which is to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo. Our top priority is to preserve the main purpose of the concert and for the audience to have a smooth, enjoyable and accessible viewing experience. While the venue has changed, we remain dedicated to the vision and we will still be holding the other events related to the concert as planned. We will be holding LIVE PLAY at Busan Port International Passenger Terminal Outdoor Parking Lot so that the audience gathered there can watch the concert live on a large screen and experience the performance up-close. The concert will also be streamed online for everyone around the world to get in on the excitement of the performance, and we have even more events coming around Busan to keep the spirit of the concert alive. We thank you for your continued interest and support in WORLD EXPO 2030 BUSAN KOREA CONCERT BTS <Yet To Come> in BUSAN. We will provide details of the new venue and seating for the concert in an upcoming announcement."

Starting with the concert, BTS will kick off their activities as ambassadors for World Expo 2030 Busan, Korea. During the ambassador appointment ceremony last month, BTS said, “We will make extra efforts to not only support the bid, but also promote the beautiful nature and culture of the Republic of Korea worldwide.”

Back in June, it was announced that BTS, the newly appointed ambassadors for Busan’s World Expo 2030 bid, would hold the Global Busan Concert to support the nation’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan Metropolitan City. HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and CEO Park Jiwon, and Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City Park Heong-joon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Busan Metropolitan City Hall to promote Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030. As part of the agreement, BTS as ambassadors will hold the Global Busan Concert in efforts to bring the World Expo 2030 to Busan.

The memorandum covers joint initiatives for Busan to succeed in its bid as the host. It includes BTS to: Act as the ambassadors;Hold Global Concert in Busan, activities to appeal to the members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE); Personally introduce the proposed site for the BIE Enquiry Missions; Serve as the ambassadors at South Korea’s presentation session; Be present on the election day to support the bid; Provide photos and videos for the city's digital campaigns, and; Spread promotional videos via official social media channels, and more.

Jio Studios’ The Storyteller to enthral BUSAN in competition

After the successful announcement of Kacchey Limbu World Premiere at the Toronto international Film Festival, Jio Studios adds yet another feather to its cap, with award winning filmmaker Anant Mahadevan’s The Storyteller produced in association with Purpose Entertainment and Quest Films being selected in Competition at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival, South Korea. The film will have its World Premiere at the Festival and will be contending for the revered ‘Kim Jiseok’ award.

Based on a short story by the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray and hailed as the Original among all Originals, The Storyteller headlines powerhouse actors Paresh Rawal, Adil Hussain, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Revathi. The film tells the story of a wealthy businessman who hires a storyteller to help get over his insomnia; turning more intriguing as twists are added to it.  The original Bengali short story Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro is one among the series of stories written by Ray, based on the enigmatic character Tarini Khuro that he created.

Speaking about the selection, filmmaker Anant Mahadevan said, “I am highly looking forward to presenting The Storyteller at the Busan International Film Festival. The film is my tribute to the legend Satyajit Ray and what better occasion than to showcase it at a platform like Busan. I am grateful that my collaborators in Jio Studios, Quest Films and Purpose Entertainment to have championed telling this story and for us reaching this momentous occasion.”

The 27th Busan International Film Festival will take place from 5-14 October 2022
