BREAKING: Prabhas to undergo major knee surgery; recovery period is 3 months, will likely affect shoot of Salaar & Project K

After completing and promoting the ill-fated Radhe Shyam, Prabhas left the country for a long-pending surgery, which his team has been instructed to deem “minor”. However, all of Hyderabad is wondering how “minor” Prabhas’ supposedly surgery actually is. Apparently, Prabhas will not be shooting for the next 2-3 months, as he has been advised full bed rest until he recovers from the medical procedure.

So what is this surgery about?

A well-informed source in Hyderabad says it is a knee operation. “His leg had been injured during the action scenes of a film, Saaho I think. He had been advised surgery a few years back. However, the treatment was not time-specific. So Prabhas postponed it until his pending projects were done. Then there were delays due to Covid. Now he’s finally gone for it.”

With shooting for some major films like Prashanth (KGF) Neel’s Salaar and Ashwini Dutta’s Project K still to be wrapped up, Prabhas has to resume as soon as he is advised to. He has completed the shooting of his next release Adipurush where he plays Bhagwan Rama.

Yami Gautam cautions her followers that Instagram account could be hacked

Yami Gautam’s fans and well-wishers have always got to see their favorite actress up-close and personal and catch her latest personal and professional updates on her Instagram profile. However, it was only yesterday that Yami noticed unusual activity on her account and hence cautions fans on a probable hacking.

In a statement, the actress said, “Unfortunately, since yesterday, I have been logged out of my Instagram account and it appears that someone has hacked my account. In case there are any unusual posts/messages being shared through the account, please note that my team and I currently don't have any control of it and are working towards retrieving it.”

Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa welcome first child; blessed with a baby boy

Comedian Bharti Singh has welcomed her first child with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa. The couple has been blessed with a baby boy. Bharti on Sunday took to her Instagram account on Sunday to the news with her followers.

Malaika Arora discharged from hospital after car accident; friend shares she got few stitches but is doing okay

Bollywood starlet Malaika Arora on Saturday met with a car accident near Mumbai following which she was rushed to Apollo hospital in Navi Mumbai. The actor-model sustained minor injuries in an accident after three vehicles rammed onto each other. The front and last vehicles were tourists cars whereas Malaika Arora was in her Range Rover when the accident took place.

A close friend of Malaika Arora told India Today that she was discharged from the hospital and is doing okay. She got a few stitches. The report stated, "Malaika is shaken by the incident but doing okay. She has had a few stitches and is doing fine. She didn’t have any major head injury as she had a cushion next to her head. She should be back home by Sunday afternoon."

“Malaika Arora Khan met with an accident on Mumbai Pune Highway. She has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Navi Mumbai for treatment She has some minor injuries,” the Apollo hospital said in a statement.

Malaika Arora was reportedly attending a fashion event on Saturday and was returning home. The police said they will register an FIR after investigating the matter of how the accident took place.

Will Smith resigns from The Academy following the backlash after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022

Will Smith has resigned from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences following the backlash after slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage during last Sunday's ceremony. Two days after the Academy's Board of Governors initiated “disciplinary proceedings” against Will Smith, the actor attempted to leave the organization voluntarily.

In the wake of stunning altercation onstage at the Oscars, the “heartbroken” King Richard star said he would accept all consequences for his conduct during Sunday’s ceremony. “I have directly responded to the Academy’s disciplinary hearing notice, and I will fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct. My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable,” Smith said in a statement as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.”

Smith continued, “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.” Smith also acknowledged that his actions overshadowed other winners at the 94th Academy Awards. “I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film,” he stated, concluding with “change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.”

Earlier this week, the Academy began disciplinary proceedings against Smith and issued a statement saying Smith was asked to leave the show following the slap but that he refused. The statement also acknowledged that the Academy “could have handled the situation differently.” Smith’s exit from the Academy means he can no longer vote for the Oscars but he can still be nominated for Academy Awards, attend future ceremonies and keep the statue he won.

“We have received and accepted Mr. Will Smith’s immediate resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences,” Academy president David Rubin said in a statement. “We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18.”

The Academy says its disciplinary proceedings will continue, meaning there is still a possibility that he could be stripped of the Oscar he won on Sunday (which is unlikely) or he could be denied future appearance at Academy Awards ceremonies.

After Runway 34, BIRTHDAY boy Ajay Devgn to begin work on his next directorial; expected to be the COSTLIEST film of Bollywood

One of the biggest stars of Bollywood, Ajay Devgn, turns 53 today. Currently, he’s being hailed as the lucky charm. After all, since November 2021, he has appeared in three films in cameos – Sooryavanshi, Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR, and all three films were huge hits. And expectations are high from Runway 34, his directorial venture which also features him in a leading role. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh and is set to release on Eid.

Last year, there were reports that Ajay Devgn plans to make a big-budget entertainer after the release of Runway 34. Bollywood Hungama has found out that the plan is very much. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The pre-visualisation work has already begun, even while Ajay Devgn is giving finishing touches to Runway 34. Once the aerial thriller is out, he’ll give more prominence to this venture.”

Usually, Ajay Devgn takes a gap between his directorial projects. His debut directorial, U Me Aur Hum released in 2008 followed by Shivaay, 8 years later, in 2016. There has been a six-year gap between the releases of Shivaay and Runway 34. This is the first time in his career that he’ll be directing almost back-to-back.

Shedding more light on this film, the source revealed, “It’s going to be very high on VFX. The budget is expected to be around Rs. 400 crore and hence, it’ll be the costliest film to come out of Bollywood. Ajay Devgn and his team have fiercely been secretive about the plot and genre, but there are murmurs that it has a mythological touch.”

The source continued, “The pre-production work will go on for more than a year. Ajay Devgn plans to go on floors only in the second half of 2023. Meanwhile, he’ll complete all his pending acting projects like Bholaa, Drishyam 2, Singham 3 etc.”

After Runway 34, Ajay Devgn’s next release would be the sports biopic Maidaan. This will be followed by the social comedy Thank God, which in all probability, will be the superstar’s last film this year.

A trade expert stated, “Ajay Devgn is riding high currently and is at the best phase of his career. With the box office expected to get bigger after the pandemic, his Rs. 400 crore dream project can emerge as a huge hit, if content clicks. Moreover, it sounds like a film fit for the big screen and such films are being patronized the most in cinemas by moviegoers in the post-Covid era.”
