Ranveer Singh and Bear Grylls set to collaborate for an action-packed adventure for Netflix

In one of the biggest news this week, Ranveer Singh is heading to Netflix with a massive project that has come his way. The actor will collaborate with British adventurer Bear Grylls for an upcoming non-fiction show set at the streaming giant. He will be shooting in Siberia in the month of July and August and that, the actor is also set to perform some daredevil stunts.

According to a tabloid, Bear Grylls was working on this project and after much discussions with Netflix, they came to Ranveer Singh and found him fit for the show's format. It will be the biggest project for Netflix around the world and all three parties had chalked out everything after several discussions. The prep has begun for the show.

On the film front, Ranveer Singh is expected to kick off the shoot with Alia Bhatt for their next project together, helmed by Karan Johar. He stars Anniyan Hindi remake helmed by Shankar. His films 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Cirkus are awaiting theatrical release.

Frieda Pinto is all set to welcome her first child with fiance Cory Tran

Actor Freida Pinto and her fiance Cory Tran on Monday announced that they are all set to welcome their first child. The couple took to their Instagram handle to share the happy news with their fans and followers. They also shared lovely pictures where Freida is flaunting her baby bump.

“Baby Tran, coming this Fall!” Freida wrote alongside the photos. Freida and Cory got engaged in November 2019 and had announced the same on Instagram on Cory's birthday back then.

Is Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah releasing directly on OTT? Co-producer Shabbir Boxwala sets the record straight

A few days ago, a Hindi news website carried an interview of Shabbir Boxwala, who’s co-producing Shershaah, the war drama starring Sidharth Malhotra. The headline screamed that Shershaah would release on OTT. Shabbir was quoted saying that in the present situation, they have no other option but to release Shershaah on a digital platform. The interview didn’t get picked up by other news outlets but it went viral among the many fan clubs of Sidharth Malhotra. While some were happy that they’ll finally get to see the film for which they have been waiting for a long time, the rest felt that Shershaah deserves a theatrical release.

When this writer reached out to Shabbir Boxwala, the producer however claimed that Shershaah is not having a direct OTT release. Shabbir said, “No decision has been made in this regard and I have clearly said that in the interview as well. The film is not even ready. Once it’s complete, Dharma Productions will take a decision on its release.” When asked when the film can be expected to be out in cinemas, he replied, “Right now, it’s a question mark,” due to the uncertain scenario.

On June 27, Sidharth Malhotra posted an Instagram story that consisted of a picture from the sets of the film. An army camp set was erected on an open playground and the actor had mentioned ‘Back to work’ in this picture. As per Shabbir Boxwala, not much of the shoot is left and that it’ll be completed in a few days.

Shershaah is directed by Vishnu Vardhan and also stars Kiara Advani. Co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, it is a biopic of Param Vir Chakra awardee and army captain Vikram Batra, who laid down his life in the 1999 Kargil War. The film was initially scheduled for release on July 3, 2020. But due to the pandemic, it was pushed by exactly a year and was supposed to be out on July 2, 2021. This time, the second wave of Covid-19 played spoilsport.

Shah Rukh Khan to have two releases in 2022

Megastar Shah Rukh Khan, who took a break, is back from hiatus and shooting his next film Pathan. The actor last appeared in Aanand L Rai's film Zero which didn’t perform well at the box office. The actor had recently also resumed shooting for the much-anticipated espionage drama Pathan.

According to a tabloid, the actor is planning for another release in the year 2022 as Pathan will be his comeback film in the first half of 2022. While his film with Atlee or Rajkumar Hirani is expected in the latter half and might release in Diwali or Christmas opening. However, with the current Covid scenario, things are still dicey and no one can plan things in advance. But if the situation becomes stable enough and things go smoothly according to plans, then surely we could expect the megastar to delight his fans twice in 2022.

Recently, the actor has also begun the shoot for a sequence of Pathan in Yash Raj Studios Mumbai and will be heading to Europe next if the situation gets under control.

Sidharth Malhotra to resume the shoot of Thank God; says he was looking forward to the hustle bustle of film shoots

With the new rules set by the government to control the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of film shoots are now getting back on track. Sidharth Malhotra who went to Lucknow for the shoot of Mission Majnu and shot for Indra Kumar's Thank God before the second lockdown is again back on set.

The actor went back to a set after a couple of months on Monday in Mumbai and will resume the shoot of his upcoming film, Thank God in July. Humbled by being able to shoot again, actor Sidharth Malhotra shares, "It's been a long wait and I have been looking forward to getting back to the hustle-bustle of film shoots. Elated to shoot again and see the happy & creative flow of energy that was truly missed."

The actor has ensured that his fans are entertained with very interesting and diverse stories and characters. The actor's list has a war-action drama - Shershaah, a slice of life comedy - Thank God and Spy thriller - Mission Majnu.

Nayanthara hasn’t said yes yet to Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer

There are reports all across the internet that Tamil superstar Nayanthara is making her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Tamil director Atlee’s first Hindi film. The film is supposedly titled Sankee (meaning, obnoxious) and it is not a remake of a Tamil film but an original.

So far so cool. Now one hears that Nayanthara who is known as Tamil’s cinema only female superstar, would be making her debut with SRK in the Atlee film. Atlee and Nayanthara had collaborated on Bigil in Tamil in 2018, a football film starring Vijay.

However it seems unlikely that she would jump at this opportunity to go pan-India without being sure of her role being substantial. Sources from the Tamil industry call this news “jumping the gun”

One of Nayanthara’s directors told me, “She is in no hurry to do a Bollywood film. Of course she will do one. But the role has to justify her presence. She has not said yes to the Atlee project. I think he is still writing it. Once he completes the script, only then would we know if her presence in justified by the script. Until then it is just a rumour and not a news report.”
